Great pics again Anna, and I must agree with you on the light / exposure thing, I don’t understand the need to manipulate an image to the point where it’s not representative of conditions of the time.
In that case, should we also remove unwanted items, such as spectators, vegetation, structures?
Cheers,
Kev.
A nice selection Anna, seems like we might have had a bit more blue over at OW though.
I really like your C-17 shots, I’ve yet to see one of ours flying at a show.
Cheers,
Kev.
Brilliant! 😀
Oh how I miss the US aero events, it’s certainly the land of aviation without a doubt.
Cheers,
Kev.
Wow, now that’s some seriously sharp and stunning images, well done indeed!
Thanks for the narrative too, it’s always interesting to hear other peoples take on things, and especially pleased to hear your son enjoyed himself as well! (Camera for Xmas?) 😀
Cheers,
Kev.
Nice to see such unusual (for us in UK) aircraft, in their natural environment too, but what the hell’s that thing in shot 2!?! 😀
Cheers,
Kev.
A wonderful selection of shots there Martin, that P-40 underside almost looks to be an oil painting, stunning!
The last 3 shots but one are showing red x’s at my end, it might be worth checking them out?
Cheers,
Kev.
Thanks for the comments everyone, it’s always appreciated, and especially the constructive critisism from Skybert.
I’ve ‘toned’ these down considerably from my last set, of the practise and auths week at Old Warden, but i think I know where you’re coming from Skybert.
I use Canon’s DPP, and process from RAW. Very little saturation was applied (+1) but I usually apply one of the programs settings of landscape or portrait (colour / brightness, not orientation!) adjustment, and then adjust the white balance for correctness.
I’ve tried to ensure the whites are accurate, followed by the colours we know, such as the roundels and camoflage etc. Also, the blue sky, which was present from the outset in nearly all the images without any adjustment, taking into account aircrafts position (low cloud north) and altitude.
I may have another play later, concentrating on the contrast and brightness, so thanks again for your thoughts.
Cheers,
Kev.
Great pics John, it was certainly a wonderful afternoon wasn’t it?
I especially like your almost head-on Spit shot, I never managed to get an acceptable one from that angle.
Cheers,
Kev.
Is there anything worth lugging my camera gear along there for?
Why would you not want to take your camera gear on a trip like that, irrespective of what you are going to see?
Wow, a cracking set, puts mine to shame.
Well done indead, especially the weather as it was, thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful set of images. Vibrant and bursting in colour, as well as being crystal clear, well done and thanks for sharing!
Yep, that’s a stunning image, very atmospheric!
Echo your sentiments on the weather Martin. You certainly seem to have made the best of it, a wonderful selection of images, most impressive!
Cheers,
Kev.
Nice, very nice, thanks for sharing!
You certainly made a good job of it with the cruddy weather and all.
Cheers,
Kev.
Part two, my final offering of the Pageant:

First time I’ve seen the Anson up, and a very spirited display it gave too!

And finally, another first, seeing the Sea Hurricane fly
