What’s the pod this Fencer is carrying?
Hell, look what they did with their OWN people in the Moscow theater.
Sadly, day by day you are becoming like JJ, Sferrin. This is not the theme of this thread and when you start these kind of games you (not you personally but anybody) always pollute current theme.
Exactly what does Switzerland need a high-tech military for? There are no more military rivalries like last century. The Swiss aren’t allied with anyone who is being threatened militarily. The Swiss don’t deploy as part of any peacekeeping force.
I believe their biggest threat is soccer hoodlums.
Can you guarantee what is gonna happen, change or remain the same in the next 10 years dj?
What would be approximately the fly away cost for the NG version? Without extras (weapons, training, spare parts, logistics…).
Second thing, when it could be delivered?
As you all may know much will depend on the transfer of technology. This is what the Swiss will try to bargain for – to get the best possible transfer of technology. According to somebody I know here, and who may be asked when it comes to the evaluation of the whole package, current runner seems to be Gripen.
But I haven’t been told which Gripen we are talking about here as far as the Swiss are concerned? C/D? Or deeply modernized NG (or whatever the official marking is)?
Maybe Eagle could bring some more info on this:confused:
What is the situation of Blackjacks at Engels? How many of them are operational at the moment?
Few questions
Does anybody know which AAM has been fired? R-60, R-73???
I know this would be difficult but Garry might know it: what would be VVS’ standard weapons configuration today for Fulcrums when on air patrol?
Now let’s look at it from another perspective, Abkhazian rebels are claiming the kill; what weapons (any kind of SAMs) they posses to shoot down Hermes?
Any clues about the altitude the Hermes was flying on?
And what about those PAK-FA they fly at Nellis:p
You are quite right flex about this. To be more exact left picture was taken just after “divorce” of Serbia and Montenegro and is a Fishbed on QRA while the one on the right is taken in 1997 from an air show held in Batajnica Air Base. The country was called then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (until 2003 when it was renamed to Serbia and Montenegro).
Here is my little contribution. First one represents a MiG-21 bis on QRA some 20 years ago or so, in then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia with 2 R-13 and 4 R-60, while the second one should be again from the air show that was held in 1997.
Balkan’s threads have a bit of history here.;)
Given that the west has taken to guaranteeing Kosovo’s security there is absolutely no need or likelyhood of any Kosovan air force for a very long time. You might see a see a couple of helos bought/donated for paramilitary police forces at somepoint but nothing more.
I absolutely agree on this.
There is no industry developed in Kosovo to support any kind of serious army/airforce.
Anything else is really hard to imagine.
Aircrafts purchases from Russia – hardly achievable in the next few years.
Almost 70% of the border is vulnerable. Slatina airport is well within range of the Serbian artillery units.
Airspace of Kosovo is very tiny – it eliminates the need for Vortex’s Flankers.
But T-90 or the second hand Leopard would come well in this situation.
I eagerly await your ‘alt’ history lesson in the general discussion forum sir, you can do your bit to reverse the bias present in these forums! Don’t worry the Mods you fear won’t shoot you down in that forum. I can’t tell you how much i look forward to having my mind cleansed after it was ‘brainwashed’ by this machine you speak of, dammit i knew those tin foil hats were there for a reason!
I’d love to give you a history lesson cuz you obviously had a very bad teacher in this course(don’t know if that was BBC, CNN or somebody else). By reading your previous statement that says
Jon James You have to face up to the fact that when a country like Kosovo declares independence, which it seems is supported buy not just the UK and USA but many others, France and Germany included its not doing so because we ‘the west’ is collectivly bullying them into it, its because they want it. i think your slightly confused if you think we ‘the west’ are actually forcing them to declare independence when what were actually doing is merely supporting the wishes of the people of Kosovo. it really is that straight forward.
a man can see that you only see what they want you to see, and nothing behind the nice and lovely curtain they made there.
First, Kosovo is not a republic, and has never been, but was an autonomous region of Serbia. On that very small space is located a very big number of monasteries and churches (most of them dating into 13th and 14th century) and some of them are considered as sacred for the Serbs. Well, most of them are now burned and ruined by this lovely “people of Kosovo”. Half of them (Albanians who inhabit Kosovo today) had come directly from Albania after ’99 without any papers and settled their new homes on Serbian properties.
Second, there was never any proof of ethnic cleansing by Serbian police or Yugoslav armed forces. The only “evidence” was a William Walker’s “massacre” in the village Racak that pulled the trigger for the action for which we can see the consequences today. This event White House used as a “credible proof” to convince the public that Serbian security forces were conducting ethnic cleansing. But what has really happened there?
You should read the article from Berliner Zeitung (17th of January, 2004) where Dr. Helena Ranta (lead pathologist of the Finish team that was on Kosovo just before the NATO attacked Yugoslavia) clearly explains what has really happened there. No civilians were killed in the night between 15th and 16 of January 1999. but Albanian terrorists that were engaged by the Special Purpose Units of Serbian police(I’m not gonna go further, please read that article – I didn’t write it;) ).
Third, do you know what happened in the March 2004? Just in front of NATO soldiers?
The US helped them to get Kosovo, the same US wanted them to proclaim independence (what they actually did today). So why they (USA) don’t want the same for Basque region, Corsica, maybe Northern Ireland (or other regions in the world that want to do the same)? Because old good poor Albanians deserved that and the others didn’t?
I’m sorry I misused this part of the forum, but I really couldn’t open new thread cuz I wouldn’t have enough time to follow it up.
And one more thing, to be unbiased is almost impossible, but every man can at least try to control him/her self and act in a decent manner.
yes Nato went on an ethnic cleansing campaign, sighs, Lol dude you need to start a website : Gerrys Amazing World of Alternative History. I really cannot argue anymore with someone as blinkered as yourself, but i will continue to watch as you come out with more alt history statements, each one more outlandish then the last. Keep it up this is comedy gold. 🙂
And you obviously don’t have a clue what has happened there but have info given by brainwashing machines. You’ll just make yourself ridiculous if you continue like this. If I would even try to explain some simple facts, we would be shot down by the mods. We would have to go to wide, politically, geopolitically and historically. And that is not point of this forum.
But unfortunately, day by day, this once very nice forum, becomes more and more biased.:(
Congrats
Well this is it my 1000 post, I must be a man of substance now:p
Well what better way to mark this milestone but with a new thread.
I picked up my new copy of AFM today and it had a very cutting report about the worth of Thrust Vectoring.
Basically the conclusion was it wasn’t worth it, I personally tend to agree with the thrust of the argument especially in the respect of energy management in Knife edge Dog fight.
So what do you all think……
All that us left for me to say is this…….
Ah Ha Ah ha ha ha ha Ah ha I’ve done it 1000 posts ah ha ha ha ha nobody can stop me.:diablo:
Congratulations for this achievement
Anyway, didn’t read that yet (the latest issue).
So, what about Raptor, MKI (both operational) and MiG-29OVT (that is not, but doesn’t stop to impress)? Or I’m missing something you wanted to say but you obviously didn’t:confused:
Fly baby fly
I hope this is the right place to post this.
After almost 4 years Serbian Fulcrums are in the air again.
Pic was taken today just near Batajnica airport.
MiG-29B s/n 18101 was supposedly flown by a Russian pilot.
@SOC
Modifications wouldn’t be so big. The S-400 is designed to be interoperable with both S-300PMU1/2. I don’t think that would be to expensive(to add a new engagement radar, maybe 2 kinds of missiles and a small modification on the TELs if really needed).
I think I saw one Patriot at Macedonia Airport:confused:
