Parveen Brown, who is responsible for continuing healthcare funding at NHS Devon, said every family had the right of appeal and a further discussion had taken place with the family.
I.e : You can appeal all you like, we are still going to screw you over.
This sort of treatment of retired servicemen/women is pretty common throughout the world, not just WW2 servicepersonal.
There is no “money” to be made wasting time and effort on “old” people, nor political points to be scored helping one “old man”.
Its a sad fact.
Im not a great believer in war at all, but these people deserve all the help and support we can give them since it is ultimately our fault for allowing wars to develop…
One hopes that the so called public servents who keep “reviewing” peoples cases will one day be an old frail person who also gets screwed over in their old age!

Quite right we must not violate their Human rights must we, lets give them a 300K House and enought money to live on while they slag off our culture, and tell our troops they are murderers what the hell has happened to this Country?
Its also sad to see idiotic comments such as those!
How about sticking to the topic at hand… ??
You all very quickly get on the racial bandwagon.
Yet you two clowns cant see that it YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT who has ruined your country for the fat rich corporations.
Its the same here where everyone moans about “ethnic” people. Yet no one has the balls to stand up and speak up when their own government screws them over. Migrants arent taking away your rights or gettin more tax payer money then what a local gets (another internet falsehood), its our own “elected” officials who are wasting billions every year on useless projects or handing out bail out money to banks and corporations… gee, no whinging about that is there?
Absolutely
The whole of the UK is covered in sites where factory fresh parts of all WW2 aircraft were carefully wrapped in corrosion suppressing material and buried to await our discovery some many years later.
I think the same tunnel in Yorkshire actually connects with the one at Bundaberg in Australia, somewhere close to the earth’s core.
Moggy
Dont forget the secret bunker full of aircraft hidden under Castle Hill in Townsville…. oh wait…. or was that vehicles and ammo dump…. no no… I believe it was full of mustard gas…
:p
Ok… all the paper says is that they broke in by cutting the fence…
How did they manage to carry 6000 litre of fuel? In jerry cans?
Id hardly think it was drum stocks? SO did they have a tanker truck with them? All sounds rather odd to me….
Are the bullets blanks, i hope?
… and don’t mention the war!
I love the F-106.
Here’s a video of the F-106 fitted with ‘canards’ of a sort, deployable in the event of an emergency. Used for spin and stall tests almost 60 years ago.
The spins look pretty benign to be honest?
The F-106A was built low drag and it’s maximum takeoff weight was actually quite small for its length. Its fuselage was a triangular profile along the longitudinal axis, not the square or round profiles typically used. The F100 may not have had performance equal to J75 at FL600, but it would have required far less fuel to make the initial climb to FL360.
The F106 was pretty much on par with the F4 for size (wingspan was shorter). However it wasnt a triangle shape all the way to the rear. Only the cockpit and intake was triangular. The rest of the fuselage had area ruling waist and was pretty much circular , only the bottom was flat.
Some fantastic shots! Truly a beautiful family of airplanes.
Not to mention that the shrieking howl of the 4 JT3? was just awe inspiring to hear.
Also the Omega Air Tanker I believe was a former RAAF B707 tanker.
What about if the CAS is not a A10 or SU24? What if the CAS is from a Pilatus PC-7 or Super Tucano? Or a retread OV-10 Bronco? Those planes cost about a nickle in comparison…shooting a Stinger at one and lodging a dud in the fuselage may increase the value of the aircraft…
Youre the only person to mention the Bronco…. they trialled it a few years ago in an effort to find a A10 replacement. http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-amazing-ov-10-bronco-was-never-allowed-to-meet-its-1695837367

The Canberra performed the same role before the U-2, so one could say that the U-2 was the imitation. 😀
Yes and no… The Canberra had a service ceiling of only about 48000ft. Not up there with the U2
However the RB57 version of the Canberra with its huge wing was some 65000ft.

Keeping on the F104 theme…
Seems like a conversation lifted from Dale Browns books, specially the B1R concept..
