NO offense, the US is a great country to live in with good people but their foreign policy is a joke, if anyone believes that the US carrier battlegroups will simply go back to their home ports if certain issues are resolved in the region, lol. The US is the country that is in China’s neighbourhood, not China, I cannot imagine if China had a base in Mexico and the US reaction that would follow, sothe US is the country that is doing the threatening. As for trade, noone is saying that the US is out there to destroy China or to even hurt it, the US simply wants to make sure than noone challenges its power in the future and they figure that they better start doing so now. China is already surrounded by US allies with the best 4th gen aircraft available. China is rumoured to have a limited number of J-10s and a few hundred Su-30s defending a huge eastern cost! I se more reason for a country like China to thus build up its forces rather than the US going for the Raptor, mind u I love the Raptor myself though

Well I am no Chinese supporter but China does account for more than 1/6th of the world and its army size is relatively small. And as for the US, I think that China has more of a case to build more advanced weapons than the US does in building the F-22. The Chinese can simply point out to the carrier battlegroups, to the US moving to a strategic parternership with India aimed at China, having bases with japan, S.K, Taiwanese allies etc…

In any event as for the SU-30MKI vs F-16 blk 60, I think that really depends on the missile range and pilot skill, both these planes should be well matched although the F-16 blk 60 is a bit too heavy for my liking.
The one with the AESA should have the greatest overall capability but then again how much does the blk 60 go for compared to an MKI!

India was offered to join in, however I do not think that the consortium would share tech with India and hence India will be moving the PAK-FA way.

Well the F-22will be able to more easily evade the missile!
What Pakistan needs is a top notch air defence network with modern SAMs, the FC-1 and a small number of Rafales should suffice to protect the main cities and major army concentrations.

The IAF will be the attacker and will need to have a lot of planes out there, the SAms will first engage the IAF and then the PAF can take off for a quick kill and bougey out of there. The other reason why Pakistan needs a good air defence system is because the IAF is moving towards cruise missiles, the Navy as well, a comprehensive defence network will be needed.

You are talking about such marginal differences btw the Bison and the MG in close range combat, pilot skill and numerical superiority, helmet mounted sight, etc, those will matter more than the small differences in performance we are talking about.
