This could be the most exciting thing since the collapse of the Soviet Union, I was getting bored of those one sided wars on tv, hopefully it will be like those James Bond movies, nothing bad will happen in the end.
We should watch out for the Agni 3 range now.
Umm I honestly do not think that most of these politicians know what an AJT means and in india its all about the lobby, there is no way that India will have an indegenous AJT by 2008, the IJT is being tested on and should be fully certified and production should start in 1.5 yrs and then there is the LCA, indegenous AEW etc, too much on DRDO and HAL’s plates already, I cannot understand how 50M can be holding a 1.4B project, in election time every single defence expenditure is looked at by the Opposition and they are always ready to find holes. Only the pilots pay, if only a remotely piloted MiG were to crash on a politician’s house, maybe then we would see progress.
This is why politicians should simply allocate funds to the millitary on behalf of the nation and let the millitary decide and buy what it thinks will be best! Election time in INdia tends to be dirty and slows all major purchases down.
😀
Since this is a Pakistani thread I think that our Pakistani hosts should do the honours, or else we might as well change this thread title to an Indian one.
PLA
😀
before talking about inferiority complexes get yourself a Pakistani name and not a Chinese derivative ok?
Umm yes there is proof
The Soviet Union never declared war on Pakistan and the Kremlin had no ambition of uping up the tempo since Gorbachev was playing nice with Ronald. The onus is on the side that claims that the Soviets were purposely attacking Pakistan terriroty and not the other way around, I can find no where on the net or any book where it mentions a Soviet plan to attack Pakistan.
The DIA report is mere speculation, it could or could not be true just like the Iraqi WMD story or when those same spies were unaware of India testing nukes in 98, for all we know Pakistan could have 20x the amount of nukes India has or it could be the other way around, the standard deviation in such estimates is high and often is skewed to serve other political purposes rather than being factual, the Pentagon does have a propaganda department. We all remember how Saddam suddenly became evil and full of WMDs after he invaded Kuwait when he was suc an Arab ally a few years before.
As for the Shaeen its better to say that it was probably indigenously developed rather than being completely indegenous just like the LCA having an American engine, the sae CIA that you people are so eager to quote when it suits you says that Pakistan still gets critical components in the manufacture of its missiles from Korea and China for example.
and since India was brought up, although the Indian defence budget has been growing in money terms, the % of GDP has remained low at 2.5%, this is what economists look at! However only God knows how much India spends on its secretive nuclear program and its irrelevent to compare since we have a lack of data.
People seem to love making fun of Russians these days, first its the Russian Navy sinking at the bottom of the sea and now its Russian BVR missiles, based on the Ethiopian war solely! The irony is that they biggest critisism of Russian weapons is comming from a member who hails from a country that is the biggest buyer of Russian weapons. My gosh, early versions of the Alamo did suffer from poorer performance but what this has to do with the Adder, only these members can tell us, maybe we should judge the Aim-120 by looking at the performance of the Aim-7 too!
And for the last time, noone is critisizing the PAF for shooting down these planes, all 8 of them, including 3 Soviet acs but we question the retarded comment “the PAF kicked the Soviet’s butt”
umm since when did the USSr set out to attack Pakistan?
At most, the Pakistanis may be using certain components from the M-18 but why base their main future missile on a failed one, they have redesigned it, the most any doubter can claim is that there was significant foreign imput but the Shaeen 2 is no longer an M-18.
Kussikap, although it is known that Pakistan has aquired missiles and tech from abroad in the past and maybe they may still be getting help in key areas even when it coms to the Shaeen2, Gauris etc, it is evident that the Pakistnai establishment does more than simply put missiles together, Pakistan may have been helped or given the core tech but after so many years, it is logical to assume that they are capable of designing their own missiles by now, even the Iraqis had expertise in designing missiles, so can the Pakistnais now. BUt Pakistan does have a lot of missiles, its confusing, Gauri, now Shaeen, why have the Gauri now?
I doubt that the Shaeen 2 is a M-18 copy as well, Pakistanis well capable now of making its own missiles, it has aquired enough foreign expertise in the last ten years to know what to do in the future, I would wonder however hw heavy the Pak nuclear payload is and its estimated Kilotons
PLA do not use my line towards you against me, its copyright for trolls like you who go on foreign threads tosperead hate about India, lol, I think that phrozen and others have touble understanding what I was saying aftera few explanations, did I talk about the lives of the pilots, of course that is a bad thing, the good thing is that its better to learn during training rather than war!
As for the r-73 incident, it has nothing to do with the Jag incident, and also just because a few planes malfunction does not put the entire fleet in question, although an investigation is warranted. I wonder if people have taken mathematical induction classes in high school, you cannot proove by example lol!
actually PAF FAN I am not contradicting myself, I do not believe that the Soviets were attacking Pakistan, they were attacking militants or terrorists who were running away, the Soviets never engaged the PAF or any PAK millitary installaiton, they had no right to do so, get it right FAN.
As for your comment about the brave PAF defending PAF airspace, lol, the Soviets were not after the PAF or PAkistan for the PAF to defend the airspace. The Soviets had no plans to invade Pakistan, noone is saying that the PAF was wrong in shooting planes down but its that dumb line “Pakistan kicked the ass of the Soviets”
that is the problem
All I was saying is that its a good thing that such an incident was found out during training and not war, hence training is good, at least we know that they fly and actually train with using missiles and bombs.
I think that the purpose of this thread is simply to make a certain group on this forum feel better about themselves, judgung from mauvastin’s post….
i suggest u post this on pakdef, they need the boost.
Believe it or not, this is actually not as bad news as we think, the IAf trains and hence gets to know about such problems so that in a war situation, such things do not happen.
