Jalali A.; Grau, Lester W. (2000): Β»The Other Side of the Mountain: Mujahideen Tactics in the Soviet-afghan War: Volume IΒ«, The Military Press, Mobile

I suggest this book for readers, it mentions those so called refugee camps that were used for staging areas, training camps etc. In any event, it is a fact that the Pakistanis were helping the rebels fight the Soviet army, why complain when the Soviets fight back?
Pakistan should be thankful that the Soviets never bothered to attack Pakistan.

IS this article from defence journal?

As for the refugee camp, I do not want to get into an argument of what kind of a refugee camp that was, the Russians accused the Pakistanis of having training camps that were used as staging areas to launch attacks on Soviet forces in Afganistan, usig a Pakistani source will obviously play along with the Pakistani line! I am not saying that it was not a refugee camp, I am saying to give me a neutral source first, PLA g back to the mental hospital, you do nothing but flame around here, get lost, you are a troll.

Although no one is doubting the ablilities of the PAF, there was no war situation and the PAF did not kick the “ass” of the Soviet Air Force, they could not fight back!

That is my point exactly PAF FAN, my post from the begining in page 2 was that its not a big deal when you shoot down an Atlantique or an An-26, however the Antlitique was brought up by the famous PLA and also certain members were justifying the shoot down of An-26s while condemming that of the Atlantique which is classified as hostile and as a combat aircraft by NATO

Russians were simply not allowed to take the fight to the PAF!

SAMS have a range of about 5kms-6kms, MANPADs that is.
It is therefore possible for some wrecage to b found inside say 2kms of Indian territory and still have a PAk MANPAD aquiring it 3 kms inside Pak territory, why its simple logic!
Now tell me how the Atlantique was within ten miles of Indian airspace when there is an agreement which forbids that?

Also will any Pakistani tell me how the Atlantique was within 10 miles of the boder when the air agreement of 91 prevents this from happening? Unless the super commandoes went more than 10 miles inside Pak territory to get wreckage.

As fo the Russians, no An-26s of the SovietAirforce operating in Afganistan was assigned to bombing, they were strickly transport aircraft, wreckage was also found on the Afgan side as well, as per Pakistani logic on the Atlantique, such an act was a big mistae by the PAF.

Even if the Pakistani story of super human Indian commandoes comming in and stealing wreckage is to be believed, the plane crashed very close to the border, I guess that certain people around here find it impossible for wreckage to be spread over a few miles, the subcontinent has a special atmosphere that prevents normal phisics to occur πŸ˜€

Actually some wreckage was shown on Indian Television, google for it, oh ya, I forgot the Pakistani story already, the Indians after sending MiG-21s undetected also send in commandos to capture some wreckage and came back home, all this time the Pakistani armed forces were ……

I also donot care what you want!

Show me proof that the engagement did not happen in Indian airspace?
Why do Indians have pieces of the wreckage as well?

If it was in Pak airspace, what the heck was the PAF and air defence radars, SAMs doing?

And the Atlantique can also be used to carry bombs and missiles and any aircraft entering Indian airspace is fair game in my opinion. I certainly hope that the PAF did not claim that the Atlantique was shot down in its own territory, it was only two months after Kargil, tensions were high, there were multiple CAPs on both sides, it would be surprising if a couple of Mig-21s could penetrate, shoot and leave, those GCI controllers and the Af should explain more in detail.

And yes, I wasnt proof PAF FAn that those AN-26s were carrying bombs, the Soviets never used these planes for such a purpose!

You see from my above paragraph about the Atlantique how annoying the ifs and buts and cans can become!

    What anti US?

The damn Rafale won the competition!
Why would the Koreans waste time and money on a competition if they were going to go for American anyway!

Just because certain posters believe that the winner of the competition should have been given te contract does not make them “anti” American.

Simply because the World Bank and others is not a figment of my imagination πŸ˜€

and btw I was not the first one who brought up the poverty levels anyway

    πŸ˜€

my philosophy has always been “people in glass houses should not throw stones.”

Hence when certain people talk about Russian Chechen problems and they themselves come from a country without a clean slate…..:D, so says Encarta anyway but I guess that must be propaganda too πŸ˜€

anyway PLA this is my last post about you, you have become yet another troll hiding behind this moderate face, the webbies will deal with you in time.

I honestly do not see what the heck PLA’s problem really is but one thing is for sure, he has gotten worse after this weekend. I was simply saying that Mexico will buy American and if they do not want to, the Americans will make them buy American!

China can as of today invade Taiwan, they will suffer huge losses but their war can be won, this is not 1940 and the Chinese are not dumb robots, all China needs to do is to develop a huge submarine fleet that can scare any US carrier and its battlegroup away, the J-10s and Su-27s/30s can handle the Taiwanese Airforce due to numerical superiority, with so many ballistic missiles, I wonder from what runway the F-16s and Mirages will take off from?
I wonder if the Taiwanese have experimented with making their fighter planes take off from hiways etc like the Yugoslavs experimented with.

Mexico wil never buy the FC-1, even if they wanted to, Uncle Sam would huff and puff and the Mexican Gov would oblige. Those soon to be surplus F-16s will have to go somewhere anyway.
