Kdrafat, please give me a break, where were Syrian CAPs, let me see Syria do the same thing to Israel, then we will talk about who knows about aviation.

Israel was out numbered and caught by surprise in the six day war and still beat the Arabs, actually I remember watching Dsicovery channel about the war and them talking about how the Syrians were close to tel Aviv but the great Syrian leadership decided to stop and not proceed, also talked about how appointments in the army have more of a political nature rather than skill. The Syrian airforce? see the article above.

    😀 Israeli newspaper eh?
    really

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3166154.stm

“Israel said the target of the raid was the Ein Saheb camp, 22 kilometres (14 miles) outside Damascus, which it claimed was used by several militant groups, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Syrian media have described Ein Saheb as a Palestinian refugee camp.”

Now I don’t claim that the Israeli airforce is the best in the world, they are good but I do claim that they are much better trained and have better equipment that the Syrian airforce. Do tell us where the Syrian airforce and air defence network was 22kms outside Damascus, enough said.

Defence spending in India accounts for a mere 2.5% of GDP, quite low compared to most countries, India is a big economy, GDP of more than 600B US and good GDP growth rate, also defence procurement is spread over x number of years. Its not like India or any other country for that matter pays the full amount upfront, its spread over many years, hence it becomes affordable.

I doubt that the Saudis will buy the F-22, why would they, it would be a very downgraded version of an F-22 anyway, the Saudis should be smart and opt for the EF-2000 or Rafale.

True enough, HAL will surely need to be building up more production lines, I don’t know if its optimal, just think about it, Mirage line, LCA line, Sukhoi line, MiG-29K maintainance, jag maintainance, MiG-27 upgrade etc etc etc, that is a lot, one thing is for sure, HAL will be helping out the unemployment rate for years to come.
The new Government minimum program draft is out and for defence it talks about speeding up defence procurements and using all the defence funds allocated in buying defence equipment as fast as possible and not letting the fund sit and end up being returned to the Gov at the end of the financial year, see we told you that defence procurement would not change.

Now Kdrafat don’t ou run away from a debate, noone is drunk here, you are talking about data that SOC, Steve etc have confirmed, i want to see that data, not your Syrian airforce propaganda, you know I would believe you if I hadn’t heard the newsd of israeli jets flying around Damascus last year, geez, come on man, how easy can it be, even the Americans used stealth acs and cruise missiles at baghdad first last year, that is simple fact, so stop insulting others and bring up the data, its as easy as that.

Google for the same price as an f-22, you could get super models of your choice cooking you breakfast and more for the rest of your life.

I do not see the data, I am sure that kdrafat could enlighten us both here with that data, Arthur,SOC etc are not here, you are, you are claiming it, whydon’t you bring it up, it would make for an interesting discussion actually, as for Syrian pilots, I believe that there was a time when even Pakistani pilots were asked to fly for Syria vs Israel, I can only assume that is because of a general lack in numbers of skilled Syrian pilots.

Phantom, Kdrafat is better left to his own dellusions, the Syrian airforce got wiped out in the 82 war, only a wetdreamer would claim that Israeli pilots were < or equal to Syrian pilots. I still remember reading about the drones the Israelis sent and the Syrian SAMs launched their missiles at them and the Israeli AF came in right behind and destroyed the SAMs. Even last year, Israeli planes flew over Bashar’s palace and kdrafat is talking about the Syrian airforce. Soviets were idiots? don’t make me laugh kdrafat!

I do not know if its possible and if it was if MiG would want to do that and the great delay in induction that it would cause. The wave that favours the M-2000 is the fact that the IAF likes the bird and as for the MiG-29, the IAf has had bad experiences with the A model in the 90s and the IAF will choose Dassault over MiG anyday which is too bad because the MiG-29M is quite a capable bird.

“Heck, if the FC-1 threads weren’t locked so frequently because of flamers (like the one currently complaining about the plethora of FC-1 threads but who repeatedly posts in them) we would have had a nice, single thread on the FC-1 from pictures of 01’s assembly to the flight of prototype 03.”

Me a flamer, lol, please do provide proof, the webbie never informed me, last time I checked it was your clan who had their posted edited by the webbie for using foul urdu terms in a forum lol, actually if you look at what I post, its the same thing, I say that the threads are useless, i only actually post on the news and discussion thread which is the appropriate thread for discussion, hence the name, so please gd unless you have proof that I am a flamer, I may be a FC-1 wetdream breaker, flamer, nah, talk to the webbie if you have proof, or else just stick to posting pics.

Actually the problem is that new threads are created about the same subjects all the time, the same old pics are posted, heck even the new Chinese naval ships get their own threads and we have already posted these pics somewhere else and they were old! One has to start wondering if its done for for propaganda purposes or whatnot, I remember that last year there were so many J-10 and FC-1 threads, I cannot possibly understand what can be posted about the J-10, nothing much is known, the same threads and remarks are reposted and reposted, it brings other new threads that deserve discussion down because there are 10 threads about the same thing being created every hour! But that is the fault of the webbie more than anthing.

Let us hope that all 3rd world countries do well, including China, no idea why India pops up here but anyway…
China still has a big rural income differential gap and a very fragile and inefficient banking system which could be affected if the Yuan is no longer pegged as tightly to the US dollar, distorted population pyramid blablabla but anyway moving on now, I like Asian aviation, it is where the news is at, I just get annoyed when I see 3 threads about the same thing on the same page, it is unnecessary and pushes other threads down, you do not need more than one FC-1, J-10 etc, thread webbies should take note.

Also not all T-72s will be replaced due to cost, I believe that some will/are being upgraded, there is also a mention of a Tank EX project but that is all that will be discussed on the Gorshkov forum, speaking of which have the upgrades started yet?
