Hi there looks like the RAT (Ram Air Turbine) Door to me!

If you pull the shot in you should see it at the rear of the door as its connected to the door by a small tie rod!

Yes it was a Singapore A380 out of LHR at about 12.30! Well spotted! 🙂

Saw loads of overflys plus LTN and LHR departures including another A380 a Qantus out of LHR at about 12.00!

I was tracking them on flightradar on my phone for the few hours I was there!

    Hi there Jamie,
I took those photos with a Canon EOS 600D with the standard 18-55mm Lens, Have just bought a sigma 70-300mm APO DG Lens for it,

Loving the Carvair picture on your posting! I helped find with some info for a book that was published a couple of years ago in American called The ALT-98 Carvair By William Patrick Dean,

My Ex-Manager Terry Leighton worked on them at Southend and Stansted and kept hold of some photos that were taken whilst they were being built and maintained, The author put our names in the book as a thank you for sending the photos and e-mails to him in the states,

    Hi there Moggy,
Yes was a strange afternoon, Started nice and sunny with light winds then the clouds came over and the wind got up!

I started over on the approach to 22 at stansted got fed up with only snapping EasyJets and Ryanairs so thought I would pop up the the old faithfull!

Always manage to have a chat to someone up there everyones always friendly!

Today was the pilot of the Pitts (G-CUPP) who took 45mins to dig it out the back of the hangar and another 15 to fuel her only to be called into work! LOL!

Will keep an eye out for you! I always hover around my car a silver ford focus estate,

Good luck for Saturday! off to the Air-Britain fly-in at North Weald??

    All the best!!

Yes Wyvernfan the runway is grass but there is a concrete road that runs parallel to the strip, Its a great little airfield with a great clubhouse open to all serving food and drinks from the bar,

They are more than welcoming to visitors, I took some shots on the flight line a few weeks ago after asking them and popping a hi-vis jacket on! :):)

Yea the French Airforce Dassault MD-454 Mystere IVA is still there AdlerTag and have just popped a few shots of it sinking into the mud on the Historic Aviation part of this forum for you!

Again thanks for your kind comments!!

Only had my camera about a month and am new to the hobby so am pleased with some of the shots I am getting!

Am learning by playing with the camera in manual mode and reading lots of books and magazines!

Hope to get a 250mm Lens next month so should be interesting!
