Just watched it fly over Edinburgh..cloud was really low but it banked into the centre of town from the Forth….it bloody well just floats in the sky..absolutely enormous….
Apart from going out to Turnhouse was difficult to judge where to be..all I can say is that if you were up in Princes Street shopping today..you would have got a fantastic view.

You know something….I live in Leith and the flightpath does take aircraft over my house but I would reckon they must be at least 2000 feet up…how the hell do you shine a laser at an aircraft at 2000 feet whilst it is doing somewhere in the region of 150-200 miles per hour….
If the aircraft were landing there is no way the beams came from the Leith area…..by the time the aircraft are lined up for landing they are 6 miles away from Leith and facing the opposite direction..just hope the cop who handed out this info isnt in traffic:D.

And no Im not making fun of this incident..it just hasnt been reported properly.

The secondary runway is 6,000ft long and could have easily coped with a 737 or MD83/88 size aircraft. Jersey has a shorter runway than that and regularly handles these types. The problem (as RIP Concorde has said) was probably that the runway would not have coped with a full load for the return journey but having said that, what was the reason the main runway was out of action I wonder?
It was also pretty shoddy to be dumped at 3am at Glasgow without transport being laid on. Did you have to make your own way back?

Wasnt me Old Git..but yes my friend had to make her own way back….
