Thanks for sharing – love the shot of it coming in to land.
Do you want to see more?
Does the pope sh*t in the woods?
The camera and lens – Canon 1DX + Canon 300mm f2.8 with x1.4TC MkII
In no way wishing to detract from your skill and talent, but I thought you must have something pretty hefty – the clarity is amazing. Sadly my 600D/EF 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 IS USM isn’t quite as good 😉
Love that last shot of Sally B, great framing and angle and even better lighting.
Cheers for the reply!
Thanks for posting, Neil. Some cracking images there, I particularly like number 11 of ML407 overhead. Pin sharp!
Do you mind me asking what body/lens combo you used for that shot?
Super Photos, Love the Pigeon/747 Duo….
Agreed – super shots, thanks for posting!
That ain’t no pigeon though – long tail, pointed wings and head – looks like a kestrel to me. Certainly some kind of raptor – makes it an even more interesting photo!
Thanks for posting – this was the first autumn airshow that I’ve missed for the past decade – family commitments unfortunately prevented me from attending.
Love the pic of the three Spitfires.
Thank you Beaufighter VI, Definately NOT boring.
Yeah, I second that – a really interesting read! Thanks for sharing.
Nice shots – particularly good to see some familiar aircraft in unfamiliar surroundings. Also, very arty Eurofighter shot – don’t you just love it when you are lucky enough to be standing at just the right angle, with your finger poised over the shutter button to get the split-second shot of condensation over the wings? Superb!
I nearly drove from Cambridge to Bournemouth just to see the Vulcan and Seavixen et al fly together – glad I didn’t bother in the end, especially since we’d been in Eastbourne a couple of weeks before. Don’t think the Mrs would have been very enthusiastic about driving all that way and then not seeing the aircraft we’d gone to see.
Perhaps next year…
A few more

It was all down to the flying skills of Jonathon Whaley – he flew a lot closer to the cliff than anyone else, not once but twice that afternoon and gave us all a real treat!
Here’s Miss D on her run-up on the first pass.

Annoyingly I’d filled my camera’s buffer with run-up shots so only got one decent image as she passed right by. Better luck next time I guess….
Beautiful shots – and great use of HDR.
Those are two superb aircraft – it was extremely enjoyable to see them over here on this side of the channel!
Looks like you had the advantage over me – I had to make do with standing in the sea air on the side of a cliff:

You didn’t look bad from there either!
Not a lot going on at Duxford today…

Superb! Love that last one…
Hi Ryan,
I wish I had a shed full of Lanc and Mossie parts to give you – alas not! I’d been following your restoration of FM212 and have just caught up with your progress. Thoroughly inspiring stuff – the aircraft looks better and better. Best of luck to you and the team with the continuing works!
Cheers,
Simon R.
Great pictures of today’s flying, chaps!
I was there myself today, visiting the BAS Twin Otter, which is due to depart Duxford shortly, only to be replaced by another one a little while after! Our little tour kept getting interrupted by a certain low-flying Spitfire and the Harvard. It’s very difficult to concentrate on almost anything with the sound of a Merlin at full throttle whizzing past at a couple of hundred feet above you 😉
I was lucky enough to visit Duxford after hours tonight, there was a talk about the TSR2, arranged by the institute of Engineering and Technology. Just as the museum was closing, the T-28 went up and did a bit of a display for the few people who were still hanging around.
The talk was really interesting as you’d probably expect, and it was great to see the Airspace hangar with nobody else around so I took a couple of pictures.
