Well, of course your whole post was rather funny, but this got me really laughing. You do realize that Selex in the UK has like 4-5 AESAs for fighters and helicopters in their product portfolio right now, developed and ready to go. And they have another 4-5 AESAs for fighters under development? I think they are part in the development of: Vixen 750, Vixen 1000, Captor-E, AMSAR and ARTS. And that is only the UK side of operations. The Italian part of Selex work on following AESAs: Captor-E and M-AESA (with Sweden). So Selex has something like 9-11 AESAs (of which about 7 are fighter AESAs) either being offered to the market or in development (of course they can already be offered when under development). Am I claiming a Selex superiority? No, because I don’t know which is better or bigger in radars, but I certainly wouldn’t talk of a Thales superiority.
Poor , biased and tiny! as Jack you are falling in lies!
Selex is under finmecanica a patchwork of the debris of the UK and italians eletronics compagnies, it is a 780 millions euros turnover, with 4000 peoples!
Thales is a 60000 peoples electronic compagny with 11 billions turnover, so go back to play with kids with yours tiny and obsolescent “aesa” …
CEASAR is a program a full radar system that flew his first 3 hours in 2006 with a budget of 10 millions euros! under the belt of a 4000 peoples unknew compagny! Selex, who do you know , can’t remember!http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?F=1575117&C=airwar
DRAAMA is a program about an GaN antena that is phase 3 , first flight in 2002, with a new budget in 2004 of 90 millions euros, from a 60000 peoples electronic compagny that is 10 times bigger in electronic systems than the second european one…
http://www.isoshop.com/dae/dae/gauche/sponsors/sponsor_rafale/img/fox3_7.pdf
MTU Snecma? jack RR makes civilian engines most and haven’t the wide experiences that Snecma have in his porfilio!
in Singapoor, the Eurofighter wasn’t better than a Rafale, all the supercruise and so called “singapore” success are lies and spin from brits specialised journalists, who are close to eurofighter interests, and the rafale wasn’t the winner because of close ties with french air force, the singaporian choosed the cheaper way with the F15!
in Korea the rafale answered to 5 of the 5 aims of Korean air force, the F15 to 3 of 5 and eurofighter 2 of the 5!
leave you with illusions!
frm singaporean pov , almost everyone thought that Rafale has been selected since it has so much publicity since the 2000 airshow…but as what Jack said is true, Typhoon trip here really impressed the RSAF pilots but being the timeline not to able to reach ours to have full multirole capability aka Tranche 2, it was drop out. As for F-15SG being selected is partly being due to political grounds and AESA as AESA is our main priority in the NGF selection also
don’t follow Jack the Geek quotes, he is a liar that never give a real source, his quote about “more unstable is better ” are so funny, and about the supposed range of a radar or the power of an engine are so childish!
this guy is a troll, that try to understand the simpliest aerodynamic rules here!
a little englander as my english friends would say!
what i learn from him is spins always, this guy try to make beleive that the sole and most successfull delta fighter builder in the world made a poo and that the most corrupted unable for 50 years europeans sissies comes first because they are them, facts are no one can match Dassault experience to build a Delta fighter, no one in europe can match Thales in electronics systems, and no one can match Snecma in knowledges from ariane to most tiny engines for aircrafts!
In singapore the Rafale was clearly better, as in Korea, as in others countries, it wasn’t a corrupted bid, but a real technical challenge that eurofighter still loose, even if they was flying the 9.7tons eurofighter and not the T1 one who is 11.3t..
This Jack have nothing than sore grappes to offert!
he is behaving like kids, comparing range of radar, but not the emiting output that makes plane “killable ” and quickly, LPI??? as about engines max power trip, when a plane already underpowered will be in T2 close to 12tons, it will harder get a better fuel fraction or to increase the ouput to get a good middle usable power output as M88 offert actually, especially when consumption, price and maintenance interventions are almost twice than his challenger…
every pilots dream to put two 200kN to thier fighter!
comparing a european delta stalling in 90’s technologies with a true stealthly 21th fighter as Rafale is ridiculous, from the start rafale was studied for 21th century needs, the eurostuff never was but to counter a supposed 90’s USSR massive attack, wow, the plane is emiting his presence to 200kms, Jack is happy!
Rafale go farer, climb quicker, move and turn faster, load weighter, and simmultanously can bomb and shoot, he’s stealthier and electonicly discreter!
as about AESA, Thales in the most advanced in this domain in europe, RBE2 AESA is just on phase 3 with years of developpment and with 5 tmes more budget than the starting Selex tiny mess!
eurofighter is so great, thoug, it crashed 2 times before coming in service, took 20% more weight, was beaten in all foreign contests, won only 2 deals on no contests corrupted BEA tricks, with only Brits “jourlalism” speculating on details that no ones knows, and even the greeks who was the early darling dream don’t want it no more, giving olympics games as “excuses” to avoid the mess!
so lets argues on the eurofighter dreamers, they are moving in the wind of illusions till the Rafales are operating Missions in Afghanistan!
Facts and illusions
The pilot in question has experience on various aircraft. But in general I agree. Especially since Eurofighter and Rafale are so close together that even a fly-off would end in the conclusion that “both are good”.
there is one stalling into the 90’s technologies, and the other into the 21 century, there aren’t close at all, exept if you see radar range and power thrush, but you can add lots of 80’s fighter with them!
F22 have SAR, MMI, LPI, stealth abilities, as the rafale as too SAR, TV cam, LPI, MMI, and stealth with active cancellation!
Eurofighter have none of this… the same guys was bashing the deltas fighters in the 70’s with they fabulous tornados, why copying the french way of fly if Tornado is so “better”?
I haven’t read his post as he his proud member of my ignore list. If I took serious everybody around here, I would have blisters on my fingers due to excessive typing. I think the Rafale is a decent aircraft (like nearly all previous Dasault designs), in my opinion sometimes not well acknowleged. The biggest problem of the Rafale: the market, which doesn’t make decisions based on rationale analysis but is very “political” when it comes to fighter procurement.
I recommend you to put him on the ignore list, too. No insult of the Queen, no stupid commenting on the Typhoon any more, which is without doubt the best performing aircraft besides the F-22 and will – in my humble opinion – will keep this position as no contenders are in view. Had the pleasure to hear a presentation of a German EF-pilot some days ago, he was not short of praise for the shear power of the aircraft, while he also pointed out the excellence of the F-16 when it comes to pure dogfighting.
there are news “the eurofighter is performing”, good, but what? Diet?
a slim fast program? or maybe the germans are discovering the electronic dopler?
Eurofighter is just a farce getting weight because badly created, that sellors need to corrupt Govs to sell it!
BAE systems, 7 countries investing for corruption, what a great compagny isn’t it?
in my best dream i put the eurofighter beside the Viper Block 60 in modernity, even if the falcon could eat it each morning for the breakfast!
As to the Typhoon, at least none got shot down by RAF Jaguars during the recent TLP. Unlike the poor old under-powered Rafale with its dead end radar and risible MMI,
Jack , what’s a “typhoon”? do you live in asia? in europe we say eurofighter!
a rafale shot down by a Jag? lol, he was after annihiling all the Raf, or a not controled dream from you?? lol!
Jacky the horny, if your eurofighter could have half the modernity of a rafale, it wouldn’t crash in landing and british wouldn’t have to grow it to almost 2tons to be able to launch a single bomb!
a visual exemple, just for you,
A modern 21th centuries fighter cockpit
a Hornet one

Cold war old mama brand new cockpit..
an M-2000-5 one!

so, you got it? ergonomy? see the diferences? could imagine MMI?
LOL! What did you expect? It’s Jacko, king of the Euroweenies. He’s just jealous that the F-22 is far superior to any of the crap that the Europeans can spit out, and he knows it.
ha ha, Jacko think his national “who’s not” pride, the 2 tons overweight “has been” eurofighter is a playmate, and can beat down the fruit of billions bucks and 20 years busy works of the best aerospace world engeneers and compagnies together!
Jacko, pls call Tony, i had a call from yours masters in saudi arabia, the will buy your fat “mama” if Miss Lizbeth the second can down her pants in live on CNN!:diablo:
wow still chating about who’s the best!
for me only 3 fighters was build with modernity in mind and 21th centuries abilities, the raptor, the Rafale and the F35!
the rest look like more upgrades of cold war jerk than brand new stuffs…
how can a plane takes 2t between first demostrators and operational one?
is it there somes efficients engeneers in europe?

More heat for BAE over Czech deal
By FT reporters
Published: February 19 2007 22:06 | Last updated: February 19 2007 22:06
Swedish prosecutors are investigating Saab, the engineering company 20 per cent owned by BAE Systems, over bribery allegations relating to the British arms company’s dealings in the Czech Republic.
Czech police also said on Monday they had begun investigating bribery allegations involving BAE in response to a request by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office, which is probing the company’s activities in six countries.
The Swedish investigation into a deal to sell military aircraft to the Czech army opens a new front in the probes related to BAE, which has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Christer van der Kwast, Sweden’s chief prosecutor, told the Financial Times on Monday he was conducting preliminary work on Saab’s involvement in the Czech deal and would soon make a decision on whether to launch a full enquiry.
“The main issue here concerns BAE Systems, but seeing as Saab is connected to BAE, the problem is if bribes have been paid, whether Saab took any part in it,” he said.
Mr van der Kwast told the FT the Swedish investigation was “not being done independently”, although he declined to discuss who his partners were.
Saab said the company would co-operate in every way with Mr Kwast. “BAE did all the marketing on this deal,” it said. “But we will do everything we can to answer his questions.”
The deal under scrutiny by Swedish and Czech authorities is a 2001 Kc60bn (£1.43bn) agreement – later cancelled – to sell 24 Gripen fighters to the Czech military. The deal was done by a 50-50 joint venture between Saab and BAE. The joint venture is now fully owned by Saab, although the two still co-operate on marketing the aircraft.
Police in Prague said they had agreed to help British investigators, who were prohibited by law from gathering material on Czech soil. “These investigations have begun and are continuing,” the police said.
The Serious Fraud Office, which in December dropped an investigation into bribery allegations relating to BAE and Saudi Arabia, declined to comment. The SFO is also examining dealings in Romania, Chile, Qatar, South Africa and Tanzania.
BAE Systems said it was continuing to co-operate fully with the UK inquiry, adding that the “continued reporting” of bribery allegations represented “an attack on the reputation of our company and individuals”.
“BAE Systems is committed to meeting the highest ethical standards in its dealings with others,” it said.
only one country could be a air threat to australia, it’s USa with thier fleets!
so when it comes to asking if they need strong “air force” lol!
That’s for sure 😉
Ours Typhoons are designed for Air-Air and will have no fear of the multirole Rafale.
But, that doesn’t mean that Lybia with Rafale is not a threat or a problem more for AMI.
well while yours Typhoons will have a old relic of mecanical radar suite, the lybians will get the MKII version with the most advanced AESA suite radar!
while yours Typhoons didn’t accepted the invitation to play air game with M2000 dash 5 of adla with fear to be “doned”, Lybians air force will not have any treat from air farce one!
Saudies are still swapping their eurostuff for a more advanced solution called Rafale!
There is both rabidly anti-French and rabidly pro-French propaganda in the UK media – and a thick vein of humour that teases the French because, as the French are among our oldest friends, that’s what we do.
I’m pleased to see you disassociate yourself from Foofoone’s comments, Nic. Happy Christmas!
UK haven’t medias, just garbage, its all that said my brit journalist friend!
First we have the usual Brit-hating Frenchmen displaying their customary ‘chip on the shoulder’ inferiority complexes, and now we have the whiff of anti-semitism.
inferiority? where?
who will feel inferior complex from a country that is smaller, no attractive “1/3 of brits want to live in france, 25% dream to have been frenchmen”, have no influence at world stage, and was till early millenium years at the second last place of worst EU economies?
Jack the hack!
SFO is dead , man, deal with it, live with it! 😮
And all the online whingeing by Brit-hating Frenchmen, in a pathetic attempt to salve their inferiority complexes is both rather sad and also utterly immoral, and reflects badly on France’s traditions of fairness and fair play.
i check french medias and british ones daily, and view the amount of french bashing in brits medias et the vaccum on “brits” in french ones, i can get a more objecitve opinion about “inferriority “complex!
ha ha ha,
anyway, Pinochet, Iraq plagia, Londonistan, now SFO, well Bribing and spining is Uk national sport, isn’t it?
It doesn’t even look much like the Neuron. Note the backside or the air inlet of both for example. Taranis also weighs quite a bit more. Also note that the final Neuron configuration wasn’t fixed until probably early 2005 [it was shown in June 2005 for the first time], whilst the basic Taranis layout was tested in December 2003 with the first flight of the BAE Raven. With the 9 month design and build phase of Raven the basic Taranis layout dates to early 2003. The work done already on Raven, Nightjar and Replica explains why BAE is aiming for a first flight in 2010. One or if the latest DGA statement is true perhaps two years before Neuron’s first flight.
ha ha ha, raven ****ty blah blah, demonstrator of the neuron flew in 2000, nEuron was lauched in 2003, and it’s a 3 years 500$ millions multi nations project, twice your brit blah di blah,
“The contract is valued at €405 million, and allows industry to begin a three-year system definition and design phase with related low-observability studies.”
“A key deliverable of the Defence Industrial Strategy, the programme will explore how cutting edge technology can be used to deliver a new front line UAV capability. Taranis will be one of the world’s largest UAVs, about the size of a Hawk jet, and will integrate stealth technology around an intelligent, autonomous system. It will also test the potential to carry ground attack weapons.”
a hawk jet? litle bit weigher? lol
nEuron have the seize of a Mirage 2000 empty!
“The understanding Project Taranis will give will inform a potential force-mix decision at the end of the decade. It will also help to sustain the key industrial capabilities needed to support our future aircraft fleets. “
it’s a demonstrator? to keep somes abilities alive till next decade?
Neuron is a real project with planed first tests in 2009!
so,
just a carbon copy of the Neuron!
lol
