Getting ready for the “pond” crossing.
This was a thread back in 2005. (Quote below)
Not a Spitfire but a Seafire. It’s a blade for a Rotol R22/4F5/8 propeller fitted to Seafire Mks XV & XVII and made by F. Hills & Sons (originally Jablo Propellers) in Manchester.
RA10167 was fitted to a No. 5 four bladed “F” type propeller Type No. R22/4F5/8.

No but its totally accurate for PZ. And as an ex BBMF guy, I for one would like to see PZ back in her original markings.
Be great to see it in No. 34 Sqdn. Far East markings. “Lupus Vult Lupus Volat”.
Get yer knees brown moocher! You moonies are all the same.
I heard a lot of it went to the people who own ‘After the Battle’ Magazine. How true this is I dont know, but there were a few displays from Digs that I participated in. Would be good to see those items again.
The majority of items from EAG went to ‘After the Battle’ people and the Imperial War Museum with a few retained so that we could continue in a much smaller room and that is where we are today despite efforts to move us on.
Stan & Dave Brett were indeed founder members of EAG but both sadly passed on.
We are open most sundays during the summer and some winter sundays.

Glad to hear Caboolture appears to have escaped. Visited the Museum and Ralph Cusack and his Beafort Restoration back in October when things were a bit dryer.
Some time back a bunch of us from The Fighter Collection made a vist, from what I remember it is pretty flat around there.
Beaufighter?
The Captive Luftwaffe by Ken West page 62.
Ju 87B A5-DN of 5/St G1. Brought down in Swanage area 8 August 1940, removed to RAE for examination. Rear section bearing yellow D at Bournemouth in 1976.
No mention is made of this aircraft by the RAE in their Catalogue of Enemy Aircraft Reports but the report could have gone missing as the Catalogue was written in 1969.
Spitfire wing bolt reamers and ‘Go’ ‘No Go’ gauges for Mk. XIV a/c, what a story they could tell.
Hi Cees
Afraid I will be out of town. Is it just the one day you are visiting?
Peter
There must be more?
I agree Dave, it was a mix of good, bad and ugly, but I would not change a bit of it. The bad made the good extra special.
Holiday coming up in S’pore & Penang, taste the good ‘makan’ again, satay, clay pot chicken, nasi goreng, taste buds are going already.
