I agree. Remember an angry mind is not a clear mind.
Sadly we live in a world full of NIMBYs (look at Stansted) and it certainly looks as though we have one here.
As much as I respect his opinion and his rights to freedom of speech and expression, I do think we have to draw the line at disrespect for the dead. The guy is completely out of order, but wading in with the ole 20mm’s will not solve the problem these people have skin like the armour of a Tiger tank. His views are so engrained he will see you as nothing more than another challenge for his campaign. I agree with Andrewman in that its more productive to contact his ISP or webhost and get them to pull the page, or close down his website, rather than wasting time trying to enter into dialogue with pricks like this guy, who will probably just delete your email anyway.
It’s also listed on our website warbird directory under trainers! 😉
I thought that too Rob. I’m pleased she’s returned to her 41 sqn scheme, looks nice!
The Blackburn Blackburn mind you, it’s a thing of beauty when you compare it to this modern monstrosity 😀
Oh Poobaa, you beat me to it! 😀
That Boeing JSF attempt is IMHO THE ugliest machine to have ever taken to the skies, and I sincerely hope it’s designer is out on the streets selling dodgy magazines!!
Yep that’s an NA-64 Yale G-BYNF, owned by Rob van Dijk.
A slightly better day today. Interesting that there were no casualties during the day, only first thing in the morning and early evening.
🙁
I’ve heard horror stories about the remains of german pilots being desicrated in Russia – a friend of mine brought up a bf109 from a lake with the pilot still in it. The russian recovery crew promptly tossed him back in the lake – there is still a lot of serious animosity towards the germans in the east.
Maybe it’s easier for us to see things differently, as we in Britain were not over run by Nazi occupiers and forced to endure the terror of that brutal regime. I can believe that there are still strong feelings in Russia, and probably the other way round too, especially in Eastern Germany, it will probably never be totally forgotten. I hope that whoever was flying this machine will be flown home for a proper burial, I assume that he was flying with ID tags and could be identified?
They mention a swamp, I presume that it has frozen? I understand that the Yak 1 currently under restoration at Hawker Restorations was recovered from a frozen lake in somewhat more complete condition though!
Guys
The pics were taken off because of the big debate as to weather they should have been up in the first place..obviously the Russians have a slightly different view about the whole thing that we westerners do, and some of them read the mirror board that is english.
I have requested pics from the source and will let you know if I get them..minus the ‘remains’ pics ;-0Dave
If the pics were of the pilots remains, then that’s fair enough. Would be nice to see the overal condition of the aircraft though.
I followed the link and every time I hit a photo link, it comes up with a 404 message. Any one else got this problem?
18 dead in 1 day and the last couple of days had been so quiet…..
mmitch.
I thought the very same thing. Looks like 145 Sqn suffered heavily on this day.
Smirk 😀 if you all want a bit of a laugh check this out.

I thought it was quite amusing anyway! 😀
Sounds like a great DVD! I Don’t know if the “He111” stored at Duxford is one that flew in the film? I think you’ll find that the Buchon at Breighton is one of the “Me109s” though.
Great pictures Tim, thanks again for sharing. Now about those Fury shots you mentioned? 😀
Keep’em coming!
Anyone who buys me this for Christmas is gonna get a bunch of fives! 😀
