It would be interesting to know if BMI opted to cancel their LBA-ORK service before they found out Aer Arann would be competing. BMI are axeing their flights from the 30th June. Good luck to them.
BD are increasing the EDI – MAN and it will be operated by the SYY aircraft as this route is being axed late July. Also for the chop is LBA – Cork route from 30th June.
I told you that bit said do not paint!
I saw the VC10 coming in last night. It came in from the East over Cross Gates on down wind for 14.

What about Peach Air operating the Tri Star
You better watch out oneleft. If the low cost airlines keep eating into BA’s profits they may be looking at pilot reductions soon, or if Willie takes it down the low cost option your may be working to similar conditions as some of the other ‘reputable’ low cost airlines!
Give the lad a break. He’s obviously a young lad wanting to find out more about what’s happening at his local airport.
Well, there goes another 500 jobs in six months time. How far will this go? Possible emails in a few years ‘Following our amazing success with BA.com and other technology we no longer require staff and so we’ve introduced the fly the aircraft yourself for your added convenience’ or ‘earn an extra 500 miles if you sell duty free goods to your fellow passengers’.
OK, so I think we all know I exagerated this one, however jobs will go and will continue to do so. Technology is great but when it all goes belly up at the airport who IS going to sort it out. There won’t be anyone left. If BA’s computer system is attacked by a virus and has to go off line for a few days I’d like to see the two remaining staff left at Manchester cope then.
Alternatively, is this BA’s answer to avoiding more strike action? Computerise everything and no one can walk out? Well, not unless the programmers have got a sense of humour and and signed up each self check in machine up as a fully fledged member of the TGWU! Now that would be funny!

I saw something similar a few months back. About 8am in the morning an aircraft with a large contrail doing a 180 degree turn over Leeds. There was already one other contrail in the same shape a short distance away. Big brother is watching!
If you want the 747 and a cheap fare why not look at Malaysia Airlines. They have some special fares out at the moment from LHR to AUS. You would fly 744 LHR – KUL and either 744 or 772 KUL – MEL depending on the day and time of travel. Alternatively if you prefer BA, most fares allow you to route via Sydney at no extra cost and so you can take the BA 744 LHR-SIN-SYD or LHR-BKK-SYD and then catch and QF internal flight down to MEL (included in the fare). Another option would be to take BA LON – SIN and then QF SIN – MEL. That way you are travelling two thirds of the way with BA. BA/QF have close ties and so the fares offered allow travel on either carrier. One tip! Look at the Qantas fares. They’re sometimes cheaper and you can use BA services!
BA have transferred the operating of the Melbourne route to Qantas and they will now operate 2 daily rotations. The BA service will still operate but will terminate in Singapore.
Who said third world air shows are dangerous?
