I am hoping, for the sake of humanity, that the majority of voters don’t decide that the far right is the answer to the UK’s problems.
Unfortunately or fortunately in 5 years time not alot would’ve changed.Still be 2 main parties lying, fiddling and screwing us all.
What would happen in a circumstance where both Labour and Conservative receive 0 votes, and votes are split almost evenly among 6 or so other parties? There would be no majority so what would happen, assuming no coalitions were proposed?
The question is so utterly unlikely but playing along with your game, unless you are suggesting that each of the other candidates received exactly the same votes in which case the election would be rerun, then a majority of one would suffice. And unless the votes were divisible by 6 one of the candidates would have a majority.
Haha I’m totally aware it’d never happen, I was just wondering , because doesn’t a party need a certain number of seats to win the majority? Which is why the torys asked the Lib Dems to form a coalition to make up the seats because there was a hung parliament at the last election?
This is the first time in a long time I’ve been genuinely saddened by a celebrity death, me and one of my old best friends from school used to watch Bottom all the time!
I visited Duxford Saturday for the first time since 2007! Really enjoyed it, was interesting to see everything in for winter maintenance, I’ve certainly never gotten quite that close to Sally B before. Aside from a few visitors and a light aircraft doing touch and gos, it was like a ghost town! Very eerily quiet, I think the only staff I saw were in the walk-through airliners in Airspace. I did want to talk to someone about the Beaufighter and ask to see it up close but there were no staff to be seen, at least I couldn’t spot any in any of the restoration hangars!
There are tickets on the gate, I don’t think they’ve ever sold out 🙂
So thrilled it’s back in the air again! The first time I went to Duxford was shortly after it’s accident and it’s fuselage was still on a low-loader, it was always one of my favorites at Shoreham 🙂
Should I ever become a multimillionaire I shall personally fund an entire trip back!
I never did get around to seeing them, booooo! I might just photoshop it into a picture I took of the BBMF at Shoreham and pretend ;]
I know they said “once in a lifetime”, but once in what age group’s life time? I could potentially live another 80 years if I make it to 100 so never say never ;]
I hope they make it back safely!
Go for it Matt! I did a 430 mile car trip on Sunday for 2nd 3 Lancs event and it was worth every inch! I will never forget it. Has Henry Royce said “the quality will be remembered after the price has been forgotten” (this may not be an exact quote, but the point is that the quality of the moment of seeing two Lancasters fly together is priceless.
You make a very valid argument sir!!!
I am seriously contemplating the 5 hour train journey to Southport for a chance to see them together before it’s too late…
My mum rang me up the other day to say they’d just flown low over the car as mum and dad were driving past Chichester, I told her I she savoured the moment!
Matt, I feel a little less foolish getting childishly excited over my first sighting of the Osprey thanks to you! :). We had one making regular low-level passes en-route to a certain special Regiment at Credenhill in Hereford a month or so back. I flapped like an 11 year old One Direction fan every time I heard that unmistakable gurgle and saw it pass at little above treetop height.
Enjoy it while you can, I miss it already!
I just wish they were about during the day, although they do look cool at night! I most probably woke up a few people in this block of flats, I opened my balcony door and occidentally shouted out “HOLY SH*T THATS AN OSPREY!” haha oops…
I just heard them fly over again!! Further away this time could make out their navigation lights but they’re so loud it’s unmistakeable! Of course there’s been Merlin helicopters circling pretty much 24/7 and the odd Eurofighter too
Best one yet!! The main commentator seemed less self-indulgent this year too which was a nice change, The D-Day scenario was pretty awesome! I was also rather impressed with the Vulcan display, there were a couple of times where it turned so sharply I thought the pilot was going to roll it!
I love how many WW2 era types they manage to get there!
And for an extra treat the Strikemaster flew really low and loud over me and Dad while we were fishing on the Monday after!
Can’t fault the show at all, there was something for everyone! (except maybe the helicopter enthusiasts)
I did! I filmed it for the local community radio station I work for 🙂 I’ll post the video later when the video editors have done their thing! The Red Arrows got a big cheer!
