Not historic, but just as underpants wetting for me, at about midnight last night, three V22’s flew over my flat one after the other towards the Celtic Manor where they’re holding the NATO Summit, I’ve never seen any before, I got a bit over excited haha, it looked like they had green LED Lights on the end of their rotors? It was very cool!

I’m so happy they’ve managed to repair it, I don’t think I’m gonna have to funds to get the train from Newport to Cambridge for Duxford or to Southport… So I think I have come to accept I’m not gonna see the 2 together… be right back, crying.

But at least there are an abundance of Photos and Videos! (And Shoreham was still pretty epic despite the 2nd Lancaster’s absence, I forgot how enjoyable one is, let alone two. )

So gutted! But glad everyone’s okay, for ages I was debating visiting family down south over Eastbourne Airshow or Shoreham Airshow, typical I chose the latter haha oh well, I don’t think they’re planning on coming anywhere near South Wales?

I WISH they they sent the 2 Lancaster to display with the spitfire and hurricane in Newport yesterday evening, they did 4 low passes over the River Usk at sunset , it was so beautiful! We were on the foot bridge over the river so they flew right over our heads! My flat mate said he saw them dive and bank around almost level with our balcony window! Although perhaps the flying space would have been a bit tight for the Lancasters?

Maybe if ‘Vera’ and ‘Thumper’ are left alone in a hangar, we’ll soon hear the gentle hum of baby Merlins :p

I keep hearing that the BBFM are displaying in my city of Newport on Saturday , part of the NATO Summit goings ons, but I can’t see a confirmation anywhere, I’ve tweeted then pleading that they bring both Lancasters if they do! I doubt they will because it’s not in the official tour schedule but ya never know

Also can someone please confirm both Lancasters will be at Shoreham on the Sunday?
The BBMF schedule only shows the Saturday, but the Shoreham website shows the Sunday?

    Thank you.

The official tour schedule suggests yes http://www.warplane.com/lancaster-2014-uk-tour.aspx

I went into 3D mode just as she flew along the runway, was pretty awesome 😀 also I wonder if the passenger’s sitting on the right hand side of the B747 they passed could see them in the distance? They were pretty much the same altitude

    Real :
    1. Harrier (was always one of, if not MOST favourite display)
    2. Vulcan (doing one of it’s more intense displays)
    3. Mosquito
    4. B52 (still haven’t managed to see one flying in the flesh)
    5. B29 (assuming one is still airworthy?)

Picking a dream one is difficult, as being born as recently as ’91 there is a LOT of aircraft I wish I could have seen flying but I’ll go with…

    1. Concorde (I never did see it fly in the flesh, it flew over the car once apparently when I was a baby fast asleep in my car seat)
    2. Lancaster/Stirling/Halifax formation
    3. Vulcan/Victor/Valiant formation
    4. Sunderland
    5. EE Lightning

Apparently it’s been wheeled back out and engines started and mechanics applauded, according to the reporter who is on site’s twitter

Yeah! It did amuse me listening to her, sounded like she was reading straight off their Facebook, but not really understanding what she was reading :p I hope it’s soon, I need to go food shopping, I’m hungry and the cupboards are bare!

They said on the news channel they’re still going to show it live so fingers crossed 🙂 I’m sure a reporter there said earlier she’s going to be reporting live from the B25, unless I misheard
