That wasn’t the real “miss Velma” it was a privately owned miniature p-51 mustang.

    Any info on it’s identity?
    cheers

Unbelivably sad news. I was only thinking the other day is there news anywhere of the restoration of this beautiful aircraft. The last pictures i saw of her at Weston she looked like being on the road to fly again.
I an sure in thirty years time Forums will be full of people saying why didn’t they save her. There was a lot of Lancs left at one point now there is only one flying in the UK plus a few static.Any historic type can disapear quickly.
I am sure there are many reasons why she wasn’t saved [most likely financial] but still a shame. At least i got to see her fly.
Let’s treasure G-PBYA while we can.

Watching your exhaled breath icy cold as you ran upstairs at bedtime in the winter as only the kitchen was warm.
Letting the coal man in to pour the coal into the bunker under the stairs. He carried the sack on his back from the open flatbed truck.
Dustmen who actually came to your front door and carried the dustbin to the cart and not a black bin bag in sight.

Amazing to see that the P-51 when it comes to rest is actually a few inches of the ground!. The U/C was out enough to hold her off the ground, even though it seems to have grounded in the dirt along the way.
    Amazing video thanks for posting.

    Prometheus
Very good film, but i so wanted it to be a great film. Not sure it lives up to the hype or expectations .I really need to see it a few more times on DVD.
It’s been a couple of days since i saw this and on reflection they should not have tried to connect it to the Alien story but set it in it’s own fictional universe.
Nice try Ridley but no cigar this time. 7/10
