    True Grit [2010]
Just saw this. I haven’t seen the John Wayne original for a number of years so i cant comment on how much this follows the original. I enjoyed it, a well made film from the Coen brothers as i would expect. I thought Jeff Bridges made a good Rooster Cogburn and Hailee Steinfeld as the 14 year old Matty Ross practically steals the film.
    Very much worth a watch

Loved the shots of the Gulf Air and EAAC VC-10’s amongst the wardair and BCal stuff.
The shots of the BCal 707 and DC-10 reminds me of when you used to be able to cycle down Gatwicks perimeter lane and go to the BCal hangar, find someone who looked vaguley in charge, ask and be allowed to board and explore the aircraft at will. When the DC-10’s were first delivered we were even given instructions on how to use the lifts so we could explore the lower
kitchens. With the 707 i can remember walking out to it as it sat outside the hangar,on board we trotted and explored the whole thing flightdeck and all.
I marvelled at a plate that sat on the bulkhead proclaiming this B707 previous identity was [i think] N324F of Flying Tiger Lines.
    Happy care free days

Those BIA Heralds seem to be forever landing at Gatwick in the 70’s. How i miss then now. Also just behind the tail i think is the old Light aircraft park at gatwick, spent many an hour there, just wish i had had a camera!

    Tomorrow When The War Began
Cracking Aussie film .Think Red Dawn in oz. Nicely played by the young cast, with a glimse of Mirages and i think F-18’s

PS3 is the way to go Great games and it is a Blu-Ray player as well.
I started with a Megadrive and Sonic ,then bought a PS1 with Tomb Raider 1 and Gran Turismo 1. Never looked back moved onto the PS2 and then the PS3. I also have acess to an Xbox,Xbox 360 and a Wii [all my sons]. He only bought them to play Halo,Gears of War and Red steel respectively.
Never been a fan of Nintendo’s so cant say much about them.
Fave games got to be Tomb Raider [all apart from Angel of Darkness],GTA 3 onwards, the best being GTA 4. Iv’e got Blazing Angels [PS3] but it seems a lot like the excellent Secret Weopans Over Normandy.
One great game for the PS2 which yiu dont hear a lot about is Sky Odyssey. I found this to be a very challenging game.

No 4 definatley stops the engine next to it [No3?] seems to speed up and down a few times yet No4 does not move.Surley if the film speed affected the other engine it would have made some difference to No4.At 4.23 No4 starts again and produces white smoke just after start. At 4.06 white smoke can be seen coming from the port wing indicating an engine start on that side.
I am certanly no expert but IMHO at least two engines were restarted.

Hearing that a guy {Iraqi Kurd] cannot be deported on the grounds that it would infringe his human rights as he now has family [kids] here. All after he had run over and killed a 12 yo girl, fled the scene and been found to have been driving whilst disqualified for no licence or insurance. And with a string of other offences like drug dealing burglary and harasment under his belt.:(
