Saving Private Ryan on DVD A great film still brings a lump to my throat every time i watch it.

27 Dresses a romcom for the girls in the family very predictable but keeps the other-half happy!!

The aformentioned undercarraige collapse (starboard side main) was not at Exeter but at North Weald when it was delivered there for the first time, the departure point having been Exeter..

Thanks for the correction i was recalling facts from memory [which failed me!!] lol

The North Weald Cat was around a lot the past 20 years .
It’s been to North Weald, East Midlands, Exeter [ where one of the main wheels gave way on landing IIRC The pilot being ‘Dizzy’ Allcott.]
It spent most of it’s time at North Weald and has been registered N285RA,
C-FHNH and G-BPFY,N212DM whilst in this country.

In a similar vein to the Lake Mead B-29, isn’t there a PBY in a resevoir in the USA. I think it is mentioned in David Leggs superb ‘Peacetime record’ which i do not have handy at the moment.
I beleive from memory it was scuttled whilst on a drug ferrying flight.
Does anyone know of the condition of this ‘Cat’ ,is it still there for one thing and if it is is it worth recovering ?

I think the chap who co founded microsoft spends his time having some of the rarest warbirds around restored to flight (correct me if im wrong), his name escapes me, but i think its been discussed here before, A Focke-Wulf 190D “dora” i think has been given an “airworthy” restoration, Im not sure if she will ever fly though.

At last hope it finally gets there and is well looked after.
Would be nice to see some pics of it on the road

One of my fave ‘Cats’ [but as a certain Mr Forsythe would say they are all my favourites.!]

Two questions regarding XH558’s display agenda.
How far in advance do airshow organisers book the aircraft to appear at their shows? Would the funds already be allocated by the time TVOC can say we are now ready for displays, please book us?

BTW i think it is a fantastic acheivement to get this far with XH558 and i wish them every sucess with flying her on a regular basis. I saw her when she displayed before and would love to see her grace the skies again.
