Omitted one from my list:
The Little Book of Crooner Legends (GUP) can’t remember the ISBN – didn’t get a personal copy as the supplier took all they could get there hands on:D
Maybe it was how the pilots felt when the plane took off and landed.Measuring is one thing but nothing is as scientific as being in the pilots seat.Is there any forum readers here who have had the honor of flying the two?
The pilots bottom is often more accurate than any calculation – especially with regard to movement ‘feedback’.
hi guys,
it’s me again, looking for a good largish image of the two crests mentioned above, i have some smaller ones but they are way to small, last part of the Singapore profile adventure, aircraft is finished, 9 different aircraft done up to now out of a total of 31.
just like to take this opportunity to thank all you guys that have given me the help i needed to finish this rather daunting task, without you it would never have been completed.
heres just a little one for you, the background is only a rough draft at the moment
Only got a fairly small one:o
Many young ‘boys’ rapidly become men during armed conflicts, whether in the air or on the ground.
In modern warfare, where women can now be at the sharp end, is this trait likely to be reflected in the fairer sex?
Golden rivet?:D
There isn’t very much money in classic aviation – BAe will take you on as an apprentice -they are advertising now . I would suggest getting a license as then you can have a good living and afford to go and look at the classic aircraft for enjoyment!
Depends on how ‘good‘ a living you’re after – most of the few licenced engineers I know earn less than BA cabin crew!
There could be a dozen reasons for the Mossy to crash, however I understand the kite was on fire, if so it was not a shortage of fuel. Wasn’t there an eye witness , a local who reported the aircraft circling with the engines coughing, I am sure I read that somewhere. Gibson was certainly not stupid enough to get shot down by a Lanc gunner, and the theory that he was unfamiliar with the aircraft is codswallop’s.
But surely a Mosquito, being manufactured from what itself is a fuel, would burn quite nicely without necessarily having any fuel in its tanks.
That Gibson was ‘not stupid enough’ to get shot down by a Lanc gunner is not a judgement that anybody who did not know the man could reasonably make. There have been many stories of how brave/daring/reckless Gibson was, so nobody really knows for sure – but rumours abound.
Thanks for the link, Steve.
It’s also worth clicking on the link below the video – very interesting!
Be interesting to know why the project wasn’t taken up commercially.

A volunteer group has been working on this particular Concorde for several years – this is an old story rehashed to try and generate further interest and, especially, funding.
I wish them well in their efforts! (Said that before, somewhere).
Being as how my 21st and ALL my birthdays fall on New Years Eve -:D
I’ll have the same again this year!
Face value 50p per stamp – £3 per set:
Cheers for that, Moggy (I’m just an ignorant ‘heavy’!)
Dave
I thought that the JU88 was the classic mistake of thinking the Bristol Channel was the actual Channel and landing in ‘Northern France’ to be greeted with pasties and cream teas and a couple of Lee Enfields?
Moggy
Not a mistake – more likely ‘mislead’ by Meacon beams (whatever they were) – as in this clipping from a book (credit at top of pic):
Just don’t ask them about it. They will deny they have them!
Probably got someone else’s data plate:rolleyes:
The sound of a spanner falling onto concrete!
