You say the flight tracker websites show ALL traffic in N Ireland – this is probably NOT the case in this instance.

    For example (quote from Flightradar24):

Flightradar24 shows live airplane traffic from different parts around the world. The technique to receive flight information from aircraft is called ADS-B. That means the Flightradar24 can only show information about aircraft equipped with an ADS-B transponder. Today about 60% (about 30% in USA and about 70% in Europe) of the passenger aircraft and only a small amount of military and private aircraft have an ADS-B transponder.

Your mystery aircraft could have been one of the 30% or so passenger aircraft OR a military aircraft. Hope this helps.

PX-3 ? (I believe PX-1 is (was) the green stuff).

Stuck like the proverbial to an airman’s blanket!

Can be removed with most decent solvents but DON’T breathe in the fumes or get them on your skin.

    On-line news from Typically Spanish:

“Qatar Airways has decided not to invest in Spanair, and the Barcelona Generalitat regional government has announced they will no longer inject funds into the airline.
It means the airline will not get the 150 million € which it was expecting from Qatar for a 49% share. It seems Qatar have decided to turn away for fear of sanctions for the airline regarding the Government grants. Since 2009 the Generalitat has given more than 100 million to the airline, and Qatar wanted assurances that the European Commission would not claim that money back at a later date.

Latest reports are that the airline is preparing an application to suspend all its flights, given the fact that its financial situation is untenable, with large losses and a large debt.

The company gives direct and indirect jobs to some 4,000 people, and says it needs 150 million to face their financial obligations.”

Triumph Spitfire, stays truthful to the original concept in at least one area, it retains the inward retracting U/C……

Knifeedge: I know that the REAL Spitfire had outward retracting gear (called undercarriage in my pre-C130 days!)

You were right about the Trumf Spit/Herald/etc gear swinging inwards when ‘raised’ by the suspension system – damn near had a nasty in mine!
Awful car – haven’t had a drive in an E-Type or a Lightning, although I fancy the ‘E’ handled a tad better than a Herald 😮
