I can understand the cost ‘saving’ on a plebmobile but not on a Bentley (however CHEAP a model).

The space saving aspect is valid in some cases – but on my Honda Jazz the spare-wheel well is sized for a conventional wheel but has a spacesaver fitted.

A problem with these skinny tyres is that of maintenance – how many garage air lines are capable of producing the 60psi that is required? Even some of the high-tech digi-machines find this beyond their capabilities, but still gobble up my 20-pence pieces:mad:

Looks like the rear of the engine nacelle was designed as a pastry cutter.:D

I don’t think the factory paint scheme shows the aircraft to best advantage, either. (But it probably won’t be sold as ‘the best looking aircraft around’).

    Quarter bumpers?

Oh how we all wanted the Lotus.

    Moggy

I too had a ’65 Cortina GT – blue with a SILVER side flash and NO front bumper. didn’t look much like the Lotus version, but I drove it as though it was (if you get my drift;)).

Found a Lotus-Cortina in a scrapyard back in the 70’s: been pranged but only £450 – snag was, all the mechanicals had been removed!

    Nice shots 92!
Real aeroplanes with propellers (-except for the T-bird).
    Thanks for posting.

Mine was a 1934 Austin 7 – bought by my step-father from an apprentice at Bristol Aeroplane Company. When purchased it had a garish yellow lightning flash across each door – with the legend ‘Lightning II’. (Never saw Lightning I).

Doors quickly painted over with Japlac black and metal-moth damage to the rear skirt was repaired (using metal from the aforesaid aircraft works scrap bin).
Used petrol, oil and water in the ratio 1:1:2 – great first car though.

Not mine in the picture – this one is a beauty!

I think he was lucky in not being allowed to sit next to SOMEBODY ELSE’S kid!

BA policy? – He booked a seat next to his pregnant wife – why couldn’t they have asked somebody else to change seats with the child? Lack of tact/common sense/sensitivity,etc.

    Hope he wins his claim.

This is a pretty interesting story, along with some good photographs.

Always had some duct tape in my toolbox when operating away from base – together with safety lockwire, Prestik blue (is that still around?) and assorted O-ring seals and sealant.
Never had a bear problem – birds can inflict some nasty damage, though.

Surprised our commercial detectives haven’t discovered this gem yet! A Continental representative did not recognize Joan Rivers!:D

I’m not surprised – I hardly recognised her the last time I saw her on TV! (Couldn’t mistake that awful gushing voice, though).
I know it was a name problem but I wonder if she looks anything like her passport photo (does anybody?) after all her cosmetic surgery.:D

Where can you buy compo rations?

Those hard tack biscuits with tinned cheese and Jam, GP, Red are really yummy.
Do they do a veggie Quorn option for bully-beef?:D

Or look at Mozy for your back up programme!:D

But it doesn’t work for everybody – this guy doesn’t rate Mozy at all:

I still use the manual backup method onto an external hard-drive – a bit of a nause but it ain’t rocket science.
