Dorset!! (eek! – sorry, no graphic available!).

A good place to fly over – not so good to drive in, full of grockles and mimsers!

    I wear mine.

It has negligible, indeed zero, effect on road safety

    Moggy

Though I also have a magnetic compass, VOR and DME fitted to the panel

Ah, but I expect you are older and wiser than a young blonde driver in California!

(Do you actually drive your aircraft on the roads?):D

And never exceed the statutory VNE, either? !

I don’t use a GPS system myself. Before setting out, I read and digest (not literally!) the map before going into strange territory (Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, etc), then – if lost, stop and ask a friendly(?)-looking local.

If he or she turns out to be the village idiot, my fall-back option is Google maps on the phone.

My car has more toys than I need – I found the speed limiter recently – it was set at 30mph! I have never used it.

Dave, as an X Copper, when you see A Badie, you stop A Badie…………………:D
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

She doesn’t look too bad, Jim, if that is her in the picture

On a serious note, what do forumites think about the use of ANY electronic ‘aids’ to navigation, etc (whether worn, or fitted in the vehicle)?

Is their use conducive to road safety?

Lots of those in Bristol, Charlie!

Dubbed “Britain’s cycling city” they have lots of them – but the pedal pushers still use the roads, jump red lights, etc.

    I moved!.

Route – In America ‘rowt’ – how do they differentiate with “router” ( ‘rowter’ as a tool, how do they pronounce their internet/broadband thingy?).

Many of the American spellings/pronunciations do actually make sense (I have recently had to “unlearn” the English way for a U.S. publication job).

Hey guys I have this four blade variable pitch prop that I was told it was from an old war plane that was supposed to fly close to the water and they only made six and they were destroyed. I don’t know if this is true or not but I will post pictures if anybody would be of interest to see if you or anybody you knew would know anything about it, I have two that are brand new in crates. Thank you

Could a mod move this to ‘Historic’ please?

Edit: Mods: Please make this a thread in its own right_ could get missed here by somebody who might find it really useful!

    Brandy will be fine, Jim!
(It kept Nelson from decomposing al those years ago).

Best to drink it soon, though – just to make sure it’s OK. Cheers!!

I’ve drunk Belgian Christmas beer in June and drank Belgian Easter beer in September. I thought hot cross buns were available all the time now?

At least you can still buy hot CROSS buns – I expect the PC mob will soon put a stop to that!

(Perhaps they are available all year round to divert attention from their religious connections?)

Nice when HOT with cheese and jam ( I humbly offer my serving suggestion to the public).

Was your Belgian ‘Christmas’ tipple still within its ‘Best before’ date? I found (and drank!) a basic English ale – it was fine – that was several months past that particular date when we were moving house – around a year ago, and I’m still here.
