For different reasons, a toss-up between:
Cortina Mk 1 GT – with front and rear bumpers removed, my ‘poor man’s’ Lotus Cortina. Went like the proverbial, but tended to overheat in traffic.
Saab 96 V4 – Doing my impression of Erik Carlsson around the lanes and B-roads of Wiltshire, where there was not much traffic (late 1960s), great fun! – had to get rid 🙁 when I was posted to Cyprus in ’74 (just in time for the Turkish invasion!).
Weren’t the rozzers a bit less “ticket-happy” then? Got pulled by the fuzz (ouch!) once – the nice fellow asked me about the Saab, and told me he thought the 2-stroke was better (I have driven both, he was wrong!) then ‘advised’ me to take it a bit easier in his patch!

And he’s just contributed to the “All those writing about Spitfires” element of Spitfire PLC :love-struck:
Not a lot of money to be made there (writing) – been there and got the T-shirt – it’s about all I could afford from the proceeds!.
Great pics, Derekf !
You were lucky with the weather too – thanks for posting :eagerness:
Too late, Jim!
All gone now – only the brown stain down the front of my shirt remains!

Nothing – I absolutely detest ‘background’ music!
I do like music though, from classical to flamenco, and listen when I have time to spare.
I also enjoy video music concerts (properly recorded in HD – not by some idiot waving an iPhone around).
Anyway, music is”… the food of life”, so – it’s time for a bacon sandwich :eagerness:
