Janie says Wembley Park, and claims victory as she is the only one actually travelling on an Underground train right now. Can’t disagree with that myself.

I think this calls for a new rule.

    Oh, nice one 🙂

Only problem is it’s then Thorndike Theatre (Leatherhead) which leads directly to Mr & Mrs Bennett-you’ve-left-the-hounds-out-again, and their son Gordon Bennett-you-left-the-hounds-out-again.

After that it’s got to be …

Oh, I see. Well, if you’re going to play those rules, Russell Square via Aldwych.

Now, the Gresley Gambit suggests Kings Cross at this point, but Stephenson says Moorgate. (It is after 9:30 so this is permitted.)

Time/day-based rules are unusual, though not unheard of. Can you think of any others?

Oh, but the board had been nobbled when they voted that amendment through, and it was rescinded two years later.

Anyway, allow me to demonstrate. Hyde Park Corner.

No no no! That prohibits the Reverse Stephenson manoeuvre, and the Gresley Gambit just isn’t the same. The Marquis of Crebewetthen rules are far superior.

I have a tape that Radio 4 did a few years back with bits of their comedy programmes on it … there’s certainly a Hancock sketch on there that might be the one you’re thinking of — it’s the one with joysticks and ejector seats.

I think you’re right re radio/TV … so much of the TV comedy seems to be visual gags these days. I thought Dead Ringers on TV was a brave effort, and some of the sketches worked (as I recall anything Jan Ravens did worked very well) but it didn’t work as consistently as the radio series. ISIHAC is just wonderful. News Quiz is rather good too.

You see a sticky thread, think to yourself ‘I’ll read that some day’ and never get around to it.

I’m going to try to go to the 1300 showing.

R – Cbs really don’t care what kind of aircraft it is. That’s why the heavy iron stays away from them as well.
