Pilots must insure that all surly bonds have been slipped entirely before aircraft taxi or flight is attempted. During periods of severe sky dancing, crew and passengers must keep seatbelts fastened. Crew should wear shoulder harnesses as provided. Sunward climbs must not exceed the maximum permitted aircraft ceiling.

Passenger aircraft are prohibited from joining the tumbling mirth. Pilots flying through sun-split clouds under VFR conditions must comply with all applicable minimum clearances. Do not perform these hundred things in front of Federal AviationAdministration inspectors. Wheeling, soaring, and swinging will not be attempted except in aircraft rated for such activities and within utility class weight limits.

Be advised that sunlit silence will occur only when a major engine malfunction has occurred. “Hov’ring there” will constitute a highly reliable signal that an in-flight emergency is imminent. Forecasts of shouting winds are available from the local FSS. Encounters with unexpected shouting winds should be reported by pilots. Pilots flinging eager craft through footless halls of air are remindedthat they alone are responsible for maintaining separation from other eager craft.

Should any crewmember or passenger experience delirium while in the burning blue, submit an irregularity report upon flight termination. Windswept heights will be topped by a minimum of 1,000 feet to maintain VFR minimum separations. Aircraft engine ingestion of, or impact with, larks or eagles should be reported to the FAA and the appropriate aircraft maintenance facility. Aircraft operating in the high untresspassed sanctity of space must remain in IFR flight regardless of meteorological conditions and visibility.

Pilots and passengers are reminded that opening doors or windows in order to touch the face of God may result in loss of cabin pressure.

Wahey! Well done that man. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: that aeroplane is a credit to you.

…..and to think you were only a few miles away from a wonderful warbird collection….

I saw that collection (or at least the airfield) from the air a few months back but thought it would be rude to drop in unannounced. I’m sure I could find it again though!

Looks absolutely gorgeous. Do they want anybody to help keep it looking like that? 🙂

At least it was my fault, unlike that door …

It was a superb evening — thank you very much to everybody involved. The pride that everybody on the Flight takes in their work is plain to see and I think I speak for all in saying how much we appreciate it.

I fear I may have acquired a callsign after a close encounter with a Spitfire cannon 🙂

The East Kirkby taxi runs were excellent too. That was the first time I’ve been, but I’ll be going back.

I understand this is just the initial set up (quite normal) as received from the overhaul shop and that once in use the blades would not revert to this setting on shut down.

    *nods*

    Thanks 🙂

The prop blades and dome are set to course pitch on fitment thus allowing oil to bring the blades back into fine pitch on start up…

    Ah. (I think!)

All the other CS hubs I’ve seen on piston engines go to fine pitch when they’re shut down … although those fitted on multi-engined aircraft have the feathering gear on them too. Is there a particular reason why PE’s hub goes coarse, or will it stay in fine pitch once the engine’s been run and shut down normally?

Excellent. It’ll be nice to see a high-back flying again. Is it me, or do her prop blades seem to be at an extremely coarse pitch?

Surprise surprise, my ticket arrived too — thanks. Along with a ton and a half of sand and 6 bags of cement. There’s another house that has almost the same address as mine … they got the wrong one 🙂

I can’t make it on Saturday. The reason has been alluded to in another thread about forum get-togethers. I shall be at OW for 1000 on Sunday.

    You know who you are.

I know who I am at least. I’m the one who ran off with the car keys.

I was most disappointed not to find any photos of cones when I got back.

It was a cracking weekend, despite many attempts to raise the tone of conversation we kept it well and truly where it was meant to be.
