Plawolf- Mainland china has threatened to attack/invade Taiwan openly many times to bring it back under its control. Yes the Taiwaneese themselves concider themselves Chineese, but should they really subject themselves to such treatment by a country that most in the world consider oppresive and backwards? As for the US selling missiles for Taiwan to attack mainland China….really, PRC afraid of being invaded and taken over by Taiwan??? I really feel sorry for you, you must be shaking in your boots at the thought of Taiwan controling your billion or so people. And yes BTW, the Soviets have sold weopon all along to people who the US had hosilitys against: Vietnam, Nicaraqua, N Korea, etc, etc. The US is not selling Taiwan nukes, and a baffoon like Castro is not someone who should ever be in possesion of nukes, nor should any halfass thirdworld dictatorship.

Let me make it clear I dont even think its wrong for Mexicans to want to make freinds with Americans or do bussiness with the US or work in the US. I think its good and I encourage it. I feel it just has gone too far, Mexicans think too much about Americans and how they affect them and dont really have a stratagy for getting out of being a poor country as they are now, too a developing country like India or Malaysia.

Garry- I dont think that US domination of world economy/culture is the fault of the US, its just that people treat them like “gods”, and they just soak it up. Too give you an example, I get invited too a party by some German girls along with some other Mexican guys. The girls spend the whole time in the kitchen talking german too eachother while us guys are sitting in the living room listening to music with blank expressions on our faces. That was it, that was the party. The guys here just treat gringo girls like they run the place. I dont go to downtown clubs and bars anymore because I cant stomach this attitude for gringos. Luckily I can go into all the cheesy dive bars and cantinas and have normal conversations with Mexicans. My spanish is good enough that I can defuse any tension or awkwardness that a blond gringo would normally have going into these places.

I for one am sick of the US-centric mentality pervasive on this forum and the world. Dont any of you have cultures of your own? Are we forever going to talk about the Simpsons, Britney Spears or Star Trek? I talk alot here about Mexico simply because I like to talk about interesting things, things that dont happen in places like…oh lets say…the US. Whats on American tv is braindead except for the educational programing. The only reason the US dominates the world economy is because Europeans and Japanese are bigger jerks than Americans by far. Can you imagine having to deal with the arrogant twit attitude of French or Germans all the time..Bwghaaugh. The biggest problem I deal with here in Mexico is not Mexican pride over gringos, but that too many of my Mexican freinds want to kiss up to Americans like thats the only thing going. When people hear me say I like Mexico, they look at me like some sister Teresa fanatic, they just cant imagine Mexico alone for its own merit. Americans dont have too be good at anything, theyve won by default against a lame world.

TTP- The main reason for this war was because the US accused Iraq of preventing inspections, which is a lie, the Iraqis permitted inspections for many years and after a while it became obvious the inspections/sactions would never end and they got justifyably fed up. There were UN inspectors moving freely in Iraq right before the war. So as far as the US being right all along, I will repeat again that they were very LUCKY that Hussein was a bad enough ruler that invaders would be looked apon as liberators.

Ive never figured out what is about coke/pepsi that people like. Its just carmel flavored carbonated water. Geforce, you should get one of those machines that makes coke like in fast food restaurants where you just hook up a cansiter of carmel if you really drink a gallon of it a day. I drink a glass of freshed squeezed orange juice everyday, from high quality oranges, not those navel oranges that dont have any flavor.
