Looks well worth going to if you have an interest in aviation history and restoration.
If its just full of replicas its just an exhibition, not a museum !
I agree. The Skeeter was never armed and I’ve never seen pictures of the British army Sioux carrying a GPMG either.
Try the Helicopter Museum as they do have info in the archive on the Whirlwind SS11 installation.
I was flying my Sioux helicopter near Stoke on Trent the other day when I heard an odd sound .I looked down and saw a most unusual sight ,a man in a pair of shorts cutting his grass with a lawnmower.Does anyone know…….!!

I think youll find the Bruges aircraft were the subject of a debt recovery and sold in Greece ?

The helicopter museum would still be keen to host a southern Cockpitfest but it neeeds one or more cockpiteers to advise and liaise……Tony ??
All the above are good but if you are visisting the FAA Museum or driving via the M5 then dont forget The Helicopter Museum at Weston-super-Mare…a unique and large collection you wont find anywhere else.
Plans are now confirmed for the informal Cockpiteers Day on 11th September at the museum. This will run alongside the Open Cockpit Day ,with space provided for other nose sections under cover if necessary.Although the number of confirmations/interest is small, the museum hopes to build on this for future years.
Cockpiteers can arrive on the Saturday or early Sunday morning for the event….just contact 01934 824758 to confirm .
The museum opens to the public at 10.00.

The Helicopter Museum is actually at an advanced stage of negotiations to take over the Weston Airfield control tower building ,with the intent of restoration and mounting a display of the airfield history etc.
It would indeed be worth talking with them, especially if a new group can be formed to refurbish the building and help with interesting displays.
Where is this other unairworthy Freighter ?
And is there not a potential collaboration here to ensure both the conservation of the remains of one and completion of the other “good ” aircraft?
If someone can pm his name and contact details I’ll have a go .
I too had wondered what had happened to the aircraft at Enstone Some how the BAPC members need to try and protect these last Bristol Freighter parts ,before someone decides to scrap them .I am sure the owner would prefer to see them in a safe place with an accredited museum if he were asked .The obvious is Kemble with the BAC Collection but if that’s not suitable I am sure there are others.
