actually you can buy 3 or 4 JH-7A or 2 J-10 for just one SU-27 or SU-33. a ideal carriers for the PLAN if they do finally decide to built it is that can carry a 10-10-10 mix 10 flankers, 10 JH-7, 10 J-10. now that would be only second to the US Navy super carriers in total firepowers.

Why not? Works for Russia 😀

cost!. china is still not a rich country even with almost US $1 trillon in forex!. the PLAN vision for the flanker is to provide the fleets air denfence and the JH-7A and maybe the twin engine J-10 to attack ship’s and ground targets. the spec for the JH-7A is probaly the same as the SU-24 fencers with less powerful [max only 27,000 takeoff weigth] engine and mondern avonics.

look at picture the raptor is flying at less than 400 mhp at flat level flight he not even trying to get aways! the hornets darted out from the cloud and blast him with cannon fires.the raptor never saw the hornets!.this was a one-sided dogfight when your adversaries didn’t even know you were there.

ALSO LUCKELY IRAN DOESNT HAVE F-18 SUPERHORNETS. EXCEPT THE F-14A’S AND THAT WONT DO MUCH DAMAGE. IRAN WOULD NEED 30 F-14’S ON 1 RAPTOR. LOL

well it’s not like the super hornets has better radars than the raptors it’s don’t!.but this BUG just got lucky and got the drop on the F-22 on a clear day it’s would be no contest and a single raptor don’t carry that many weapon that can shoot down 30 F-14 .

Why is there a cross on the gun at the lower end of the Hud shot..?? Does it signify that its a training manuver or that it is out of gun range??

maybe the gun is disable for training or no ammo availble in the HUDand I got a strong feeling that this raptors pilot’s never saw this hornets comming right on top of him!. and be coffin meats

It also depends on the no. of bogeys..In a dogfight a 2 on 4 enviroment no longer favours the raptor and we know that in a multi bogey furball when the fog lifts the aircaft on top are not necc. the better ones but the ones who’s pilots have done the right thing and have had luck on their side aswell
    t
NOTE- this was mentioned insimhq board and caught my attention – If this was such a serious DACT fight then why didnt the raptor upon this situation bank hard to avoid a missile shot or guns..Wouldnt it be logical enough to do so provided yur adversary is in such a good position..If he had banked we would be seeing serious vapour contrails but we dont..!! Also in these simulated engagements does the MISSILE LOCKED indication appear on the HUD??

the heavy cloud formation may have help the super hornets and cut the range of the radar of the raptors probaly neithers one could really see each other at long range on radar because of the cloud liked I say before moisture badly degrade and cut the range of radar’s radiowave the hornet was at the right position and time even with just the 20mm cannon kill. just plain luck with this super hornet…

the view put the super hornet almost looking straight down on the raptor. can someone actually read the data from the HUD.liked air speed and the position the F-18 is in?. also in the the first pic the altitude is at 1000 feets the second at 900 feets. is this correct?.

here the HUD data in plain english

    “alpha 19.5”: attack angle
    “M 0.37”: Mach
    “G 1.9 [currently]/7.6”: G force, maximum load 7.6

    very slow dogfight.
