Great shots Steve 🙂
The JP looks great, best display of the afternoon for me.

Love the Tristar shot.

All great shots, but the Typhoon take off is stunning 😀
By the way, I was really impressed by the JP display, definately a highlight for me.

A few more….
The Chipmunk looked great in the sun….

A shot of the Chinnok arrival before I got blown off the wall…. 🙂
Damien was right …there was ALOT of fence for the ATC to re-erect!

So very sad.
My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the airmen involved.

Without wishing to fuel the argument, it was covered all day. 🙁
If you accept an invitation to display your aircraft in the static park (does it work that way?), I assume the organisers think you are going to display to its maximum potential….otherwise whats the point?
They could have parked with the rest of the GA aircraft.
It was a great show though, even getting out this evening the traffic was fine… got home in time to watch the USA GP. :diablo:

A Great Day
Today was my first visit to Abingdon….. but it won’t be my last! 🙂
Wonderful weather, great flying and a well presented static park, together with a nice relaxed atmosphere.
A brilliant start to the year, well done to all concerned.
Cheers

Not sure about the bloke singing next to the arena though! :diablo:

Thanks for the kind comments. I’ve been a visitor to this forum for a couple of years but only recently felt confident enough to post my piccies. I bought a D70 last autumn and am trying to take my photography abit more seriously, this is my first opportunity to post something that I hoped would be of interest.
All comments are welcome, especially negative (or constructive!). I want to learn, and there are some VERY talented photographers frequenting this forum.
Heres to a safe, long and well photographed airshow season.
Bring it on.
cheers

A few miscellaneous shots to finish with.
The dakota minus her wings before her move, the Jetstream outside, The Liberator in the rain waiting to go back inside, and finally both aircraft back undercover.
I was in the Cosford area for a couple of weeks and made numerous visits to the museum during lunchtimes and in the evening. I can’t praise the staff highly enough, they were all friendly and polite and couldn’t be more helpful. Considering the attitude of staff at a couple of other museums I’ve been to recently the contrast could’t be greater. Thank you Cosford.

The Liberator was outside overnight and moved back inside on the afternoon of the 20th.
Barnowl – I’m nothing to do with the museum, these piccies are just ‘right place – right time’ …… for once!
