Before all this happened I was at Legends on the Friday chatting about Mustangs in general to some apparently knowledgeable chap and he said the thing that might cause problems in the
future is a shortage of propellers and hubs worldwide, anyone shed any light on this?
Maybe it could fly;
So, are we supposed to take this video on face value ?
No, its a fake 🙂
I’ve seen it. It was interesting. It did give some perspective, yes. It doesn’t change the fact that many people who voted to leave did so on the basis of a lie. The implication from the bus is that the 350m will go the the NHS. It can’t, as the figure sent is 180m or so. It appears that we may have to use that to fund Cornwall…
It’s not a Lie, It has been clarified over and over again Bruce all but the most obtuse know how the figures are made up, you keep dragging tired old rhetoric in as if somehow it’s going to change anything, its not we have a Brexit in progress and nothing going to change that, your arguments are becoming pointless:)
Yes, apparently nobody promised this. I mean it’s not as if it was written on the side of a bl00dy great bus or anything is it…
You know they mean that the 350 million is a gross figure and from the net the NHS could receive funding directly from ourselves but you are playing a game Bruce aren’t you:)
Here’s a video that’s going around at the moment, if you watch it it would be 5 mins well spent and might help balance your perspective;
Paolo Barnard: THE TRUTH ABOUT BREXIT
Paolo Barnard, the most censored Italian Economic Journalist, reveals the truth about BREXIT and the European Union.
Ford have today stated their preferred option of Remain winning the day.
Easyrider,
The Bill Cash piece was informative, but not exhaustive. It is one sided, and deliberately covers one side of the work of the EU, which we agree is an imperfect entity. I wouldn’t say it tells lies, but neither does it tell the whole truth. I have deliberately avoided propaganda generated by parliamentarians from both sides, because by and large they have a vested interest in their specific preferred outcome.
So, I have for example read the piece by Sir James Dyson, and balanced it with the opinion of Sir Richard Branson, who favours remain. My Twitter feed is full of opinion from both sides of the argument, and I regularly read blogs and opinion from many different people, few of which have any direct connection with the official campaigns.
Be careful of reading only articles and blogs which gel with your own views, as one learns nothing. Equally, opinion is only that. I can’t educate you with my opinion, and nor will I try. However in the absence of much in the way of facts, on either side, it is pretty much all we are left with. Ultimately, I find I value the opinions of those who favour remain, rather more than I do those who wish to leave. But, I by no means disagree with some of what they say..
Please don’t assume that to quote “Be careful of reading only articles and blogs which gel with your own views” that I only gather information that supports my decision to vote leave.
I will comment on Sir Richard Branson remain statement, he talks of life before the EU and how difficult it was to travel around Europe getting visas taking 3 months I am only 2 years younger than Sir Richard and don’t remember these problems, he hints at the financial centre moving to Europe, another really unlikely event considering the likely collapse of the EU following our Brexit, he talks of the loss of 500 million customers as if we would lose them and so it went on, everything he said could be easily countered, so why would he wish to remain? he is a successful businessman and a Brexit would no doubt mean some reorganisation with in his companies which would cost money and time, has he heard of the NHS? I doubt it at no time did he mention migration or what may best for the UK as whole his only concern is his companies bottom line in the short term.
Please accept I want to retire from this debate, mine is only one vote probably wont make a jot of difference, some say even if the Brexit win by a huge majority Parliament with 80% in favour of remain will never pass it.
Bit like the Eagles hotel California ” You can check out any time you like but you can never leave”:)
.
Easyrider, It was not me who suggested it was all lies in my original post on the article, I merely suggested that it was not very neutral,or objective. You were the one to mention lies.
Perhaps you shoud reread it.I am facinated by your constant emphasis on Cash’s knighthood, as it could be taken that you believe it will make his work any more reliable, but I am sure this is not what you mean. Is it?
“no I don’t believe in all of what Cash has written” means to me you think he is lying,
I also note your failure to acknowledge Sir Cash’s knighthood, to me a knighthood does deserve some respect and yes I do think it makes his work more reliable although when respect is lost or honesty proven lacking I would be first to support the removal of the honour, why does it concern you? do know something about Sir Cash that might mean he does not deserve the honour if so please tell us :rolleyes:
No, of course I am not suggesting that those who protest against the EU are mentally ill etc. Where have I ever suggested that? I have and would suggest that many of those who quote from single sources or types of sources of whatever persuasion are perhaps lacking in rigour and that includes said article. Certainly relying on any tabloid or indeed any single source broadsheet for information on their own is in my mind narrowing perspectives leading to a lack of understanding of the complexities. I know I often quote sources in my posts that others disgreee with, as I indeed I disagree with yours, but I often offer them as an alternative perspective, to educate if you like :rolleyes:
I am not suggesting Cash’s book is all lies either, but I would suggest it is very, very, selective in the truths it may provide along with the misinformation and spin.
Hmmmm not really giving much, so its got lies (Sir Cash’s book) in it just not so many as you first spun and you admit there are truths in there but not saying what you think they might be, but anyway brush over the facts and keep pushing the remain propaganda:rolleyes:
Re:641
Anything from Bill Cash is likely to be entirely neutral and objective………NOTAnd as for suggesting that an article in any tabloid should be taken as fact until very carefully cross-checked using multiple alternative sources if possible? Especially that tabloid.
I am trying to extract myself from this pointless debate but will answer replies to my own posts, Trekbuster do you believe anybody that protests against the EU must be mad or mentaly ill or unintelligent or downright stupid?
This is not a newspaper article but an extract from Sir Bill Cash’s book which you seem to claim is all lies, can you provide evidence that it is fiction?
I have read much on both sides of the argument. I have said many times that I don’t believe the EU is perfect, and needs reform. The monthly jaunt is a perfect example.
I am very, very wary of newspaper articles and usually try to see past them to the facts beyond – if there are any.
The fact that the EU is far from perfect doesn’t by definition mean it is useless. My belief is we do better from being part of it than we would from not. I suggest that many people in the remain camp share those views.
You haven’t read the link have you, on the basis it would take more than 8 mins to see my post read the (Lengthy) extract from Sir Bill Cash’s book (Not a newspaper article) and type your reply.
You don’t grasp that we cannot change the EU no more than we can control immigration whilst part of the EU
