That’s a beaut ! 🙂
Very nice, good panning, from a show I would like to get to one day 🙂
Have now read my copy, A great book, very interesting, with quality illustrations, as an engineer I would have liked more technical detail, but understand the book must have balance, overall a great read, ………Recommended ……..:)

Spitfire MK1 G-MK1A / P9374 by BMrider2012, on Flickr
.
Its a pity it cant be re-engined with something more modern and maintainable and with a better spares source, must be a load of Nimrod engines about 🙂
Its the image of the Vulcan people want to see, I,m sure it will Roar & Howl just as nicely on newer engines 😎
Guess the airframe got plenty of life in it ?
I know its not going to happen with all the certification problems etc, but forget the cost for a moment, from a engineering perspective could it be done???
.
How the heck do you ingest silica bags in a Vulcan:eek:
You fail to check their removal before Engine start / flight 🙁
Thanks for your comments, always apprciated 🙂

Picked up my copy at Duxford and got the man himself to sign it 🙂 Thanks Andy, looks a fascinating read.
Mark.
The election of these days, summer, and next Ramadan does not help the recovery.
everything is still definitely up to end of the year!!
In June we will have a complete and detailed mapping of the wreck with aerial photographs and also try the sgt Copping!
I doubt there will be much left to recover by the end of the year, most of it will be on ebay ….
.
It is a bike primary cover, the round / jagged hole at the left of the image seems to be non standard or a damaged area, originally I don’t think there would be a hole there, the vertical “slot” in the middle is for the footrest, the upper centre hole would have had a cap / seal and is for adding oil.
The image here is not the same part, its a 1946 Triumph 3T cover and is in alloy, but shows a similar design.
