Yes there is, The aircraft would need to made ready for a one off A to B ferry flight which would involve some work and cost, elsewhere in the world this would not be a issue, unfortunatly the aircraft is in the UK and we are likley to witness a running Vulcan smashed and disposed of by the scrapman, never mind we still have XH558 (For now)
Perhaps as the aircraft is live one ferry flight somewhere out of there could happen, anywhere but the UK it wouldnt be a issue, but I wont hold my breath 🙁
Can anybody confirm what is on offer this weekend ? Main question, will W4050 be positioned outside in suitable place for photography. The cramped conditions within the hangars at the museum have always made clear photographs difficult.
Perhaps best to ring the museum and ask! 😀
W/C Elwy-Jones, was OC of Sylt 1946 and the Mosquito RF-645 was his personal aircraft so that would tie in with the rank pennant and the two tone blue colouring, thanks for all your help!
Couple more from me to keep the photo theme going, both from Mildenhall 1989 ,,,,,,,,,,,,

Patience Sabrejet, 🙂 was busy re-editing this old scan, sorry it has to be low-res, but it is earmarked for a commercial purpose hopefully …

The ‘Magic’ is very well focussed PR for the last decade or so. The ‘Vulcan effect’ is only a relatively recent phenomena, had you asked people what a Vulcan was when it was retiring the first time around a lot of wouldn’t have had a clue.
I don’t agree with that, the Vulcan has always thrilled the crowds in its unique way, as long ago as the Mildenhall airshows and before it has been one of the main attractions, I’m afraid the only the thing to replace the Vulcan as the “Next Big Thing” is a ……………. VULCAN! :)
Nice Photos, do you still have the negatives, particularly the fulmar?
Re Post 1415, is that a flapless landing or… ?
No it wasn’t, my mistake, now I have reviewed the series of frames it’s obvious the spits taking off not landing, I’ve taken down the image for now 😮
Fake or a better term “composite” but nice effort and works well, well done to the artist! perhaps better working the b17 to a wartime look and trailing a thin smoke trail? maybe Black & White? 😀
Thanks for your reply and following your link I am sure you are correct and my picture now has an identity!
Bit of a Prang at Shuttleworth, Pilot OK, Pics
Bit of a prang at Shuttleworth today, Pilot OK and flying was set to to resume but permission to move aircraft was being sort from AAIB as I left with darkening clouds and no show aircraft from Duxford it seemed little left to stay for, plus my cars system was telling me the battery levels were low and I might have trouble starting later!
Here is a series of pics, seems he caught the fence during a side slipping landing in the crosswind.
The kite might be out of service for a while though!

As its quiet and thinking of aircraft that don’t regularly feature on this thread a rummage in my slide collection found this Gannet photo from about 1977/78? and its later restored display plus an example of its double mamba powerplant, maybe we shall see one fly soon?

A sad day that should not be forgotten and hopefully never repeated. Some of those photographs however illustrate
Very well the dangers that the freeloaders in the fields around Airshows put themselves and other in.
How many “Freeloaders” were killed & injured in this tragic accident then ???? most of the general public loss of life and injures have occurred within the paid for public areas in airshow accidents past as far as I know!
Like them all, all sharp, skilled editing and composition, where were you shooting from? tank bank end?
