If you missed the lines like this on a Squadron in Germany you would hit the revetments wall, the sites were that tight, there is no point teaching folks to Marshall if you do not do it right, true I do not know how much experience the people have but that’s lousy, the other ones showing them parked off the line and cross are as bad, you would get laughed at on a squadron parking them that bad, especially as the power sets etc were not that far off them. You would marshal them in, stop them check the tyres, then roll them fwd onto the cross before shutting it down.. They needed to be on the button to winch them back in to the HAS quickly, Hence the lousy parking 🙂
Thanks for your comments “Tony T”, I would suggest your forward your thoughts in writing to RAF Cosford, maybe they will take some action with those concerned in the parking debacle, maybe not
I hope you enjoyed the photos though!:)

Wasn’t Thursday (and the Jaguar outing) meant to be Press Day for the 2013 Airshow?
If so, is that the best the RAF have to offer for a Press Day? Showing aircraft that have been retired rather than something from the current inventory? Or was that the plan and the fog curtailed it?
It’s a bit like the Press Day for Flying Legends featuring Cessna 150’s and Cherokees.
Still nice to see the Jaguars trundling about though.
Regards,

I think everything that was planned to happen, happend, and a full brief and info packs were given out to the “Press” I dont think anything more was expected really.
Nice pictures.
Are they still in flying condition, or close to it ?
Whether or not they could be brought up to airworthiness is a moot point as the runways now to short for them, the Harrier in one of the pics is a non runner and is used for battle damage training.
They will feature in RAF Cosfords 2013 Airshow (Sunday 9th June 2013) ground running & taxiing.

Thanks to those that have left comments well, the one anyway 😀

I’ll read up on the Chromatic Aberration to get a full understanding but if it was camera shake (at 500th?) the shadowing would have been on the same side of objects at either side of the picture depending on which way the camera was travelling during the shake.
I will also read the lens review.
Thanks for all your comments so far.
Tony.
Just to clarify Tony, the possible camera shake has caused softness
not the CA the ca is down to the lens itself.
The “Shadowing on the bunting” looks like motion blur to me ? maybe the bunting was moving in the wind?
For one thing the CA is visable in a Huge crop, The quality of the image is about right for the quality of the lens, so I guess we should agree to disagree 🙂
Dunno what the point of your quality shots are ??? you can get sharp shots at 1/500th I agree, but in this case the poster hasn’t (In my opinion)
A degree of Chromatic Aberration is noted in reviews of the Tamron 70-300mm zoom, however the shooter may improve the problem by shooting a lower iso, F11, and higher shutter speed ( He shot at 1/500th, which could introduce a bit of camera shake), he probably wont achive all this at together so should keep the f11 and low iso and use a tripod, or rest the camera to keep steady, the posted image looks soft.
I would’nt say the Chromatic Aberration is excessive for this lens.
Thanks for your comments chaps, much appreciated 🙂
Nice shots, will be there in the morning 🙂
