Thanks Bill for the Google translations, gives me a direction to look on RAF flight gear and identify the actual parts. post 60 pic 110 are probably referring to translation 111; Two three screws of a parachute pack RAF.

I think it might be helpful for the forum if I display the few tags that were at one stage attached to some items, they are in German so if anyone “Kann Deutsch lesen” it would be most helpful. I think Peter item 34 was once labelled and I believe it was label 120 the flight engineer description, and label 111 refers to picture 110 (below).

Hello Bob the material is the same a hard plastic and the colour tone quite similar, do you have a picture of the complete economizer unit.

If Canberra parts are in my relics I’m really ——! However slowly getting there to identify my 101 Squadron Lancaster parts. Items 85 look like pipe connectors, and item 102 an interesting combination of piping/electrics?

Unfortunately there are no other numbers on item 44, I guess with the horrendous losses suffered by bomber command 1943-1944 manufacturing of bomber parts had to be standardized for mass production to keep the command going.
Dennis
Thanks Peter could you explain a little further, item 34 where in relation to the pilot was the carb heat lever positioned?
Dennis
Thanks station 342 excellent bit of identifying. On further inspection on item 40 the letters are faded but etched into are the words, WALTHAM WATCH CO. a US watch company that made parts for the military during WW2. I cannot make out the serial No. but it does go into my increasing relic parts of my P-51 collection.
Dennis
Hello Peter thanks for the info are 32-33 and 34 from a Lancaster, or are most of the items I post, equipment that are generally used in all RAF bombers?

Thanks John I think your right about items 68-69 (post 40), part 72 looks like part of a US parachute so the items all tie in together with my P-51 theory! Items 80-81 are a part of an RAF oxygen/goggles set, item 79 looks like part of the oxygen assembly, and item 80 according to the person that recovered the relics, is the link between the goggles and the strap, I can find no evidence but the part looks similar to others online.

Thanks Bob, I curios about items 68 and 69 are they parachute release mechanisms?
Dennis
Here are some more items from my collection, Buckles & Brackets, I believe the light green buckles are from the headset of a crew members.

Hello Bob I looked at your thread “Wreckage of Lancaster ED908 (60-Z)” an excellent piece of research by you and the other forum members. Unfortunately from the relics of your excavated Lancaster I couldn’t find any that resembled any of my Lancaster. I suppose my collection of aircraft relics most will never be identified as there are Spitfire, P-51, Halifax, Stirling, and Lancaster parts, which I don’t mind if only the items were labelled.
Dennis
Thanks Bobkat if I do have any H2S radar bits these files on vmarsmanuals will certainly help. I have a bag of dials plastic/metal I will put on this thread once I photographed them.
Dennis
With the help of the forums, I am beginning to piece together some aircraft parts, there seems to be enough information to conclude there are P-51 Mustang relics within my collection, it would be great if there was.
Dennis
Post 1 item 2, is a U.S fuel cap as used on P51 Mustangs.
Post 7 Item 21 control cable pulley aircraft type has the name Westinghouse an American electrics company.
Post 14 item 29 DME Indicator is from another American company Rockwell
Post 17 item 1 is a American 700mph airspeed indicator as used in P-51 Mustangs
Post 28 item 51, P-51D Mustang part numbers begin with 106, so that would tie in with some of your other bits.
