A Kite with a camera
I have i gig dual channer and 2800 xp, 128 mb ati radeon pro. And i also have low FPS about 20/30 i guess, but quite playable.I recommend a better card, 6800 nvidia or X800 Ati, and 1 gig ram is the minimum. for the other game it sounds quite acceptable.
Wait for the Saitek X-52 http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x52.htm
It was a cowards act indeed
Graphically that looks fantastic. How much did you pay for it? Wish I could enjoy IL2 still, but my new computer graphics card doesn’t seem to like it.
What processor do you run it on?
Well i have a AMD 2800 XP, 1 gig DDR (dual channel), and the Ait 9800 pro (128 mb).
and Viper i did learn a lot from falcon 4.0 indeed, there are several good patches to upgrade the graphics realism even further. here you can find those updates (for people who dont know) http://f4ut.frugalsworld.com/
According to Qianlong (“Thousand Dragons” Beijing-based website), Hongdu has two major goals at Zhuhai, one is unveiling the L-15 “Flying Lion” and the second is introducing the latest edition of the K-8.
The company has brought along a floor model of the new K-8 glass cockpit with three MFDs and a HUD. (GD’s note: it was posted earlier in the previous picts, news and specs thread that the North Xi’an Electronics Co. is providing the electronics.)
Hongdu also said K8 airplane has been exported Pakistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and 8 other countries with total exports of nearly 200. The PLAAF is currently undergoing mass introduction of the K-8 (domestic variant is known as JL-8.)
with an the HOTAS Cougar joystick :D, nice layout though
Arshad, that´s an Su-33, not an Su-30. Nice shots, by the way.
I acquired Lock On about three weeks ago. I think it´s a good game but I can´t say I´m very impressed. The graphics are excellent (smoke effects and fireballs on aircraft could have been made better, though), the physics and the flight models are also quite satisfying, but it stops there. The realism level could have been better when compared to Falcon 4.0 and JF/A-18, especially when it comes to weapons employment, radio comms and carrier ops. The AGM-65 is too damn easy to operate, the radio comms are somewhat simple and have quite limited options and carrier ops are simplified. And is that A-10A really that manouvreable?
I´d like to discuss these topics when I´ve got more time.
Yeah, damn, sorry my mistake (typo) 😉
About it being to easy compared to falcon you are right. nothing beats the realism in Falcon 4.0. Its a very hard simulation to learn. But you cant also expect one game (lock on) to simulate accurately all those different airplanes which are in it, in Falcon emphasiz is only laid on one plane, that has since then also been further optimized by Falcon “groupies” with their patches etc. The problem with Falcon is sometimes its to realistic, its hard to learn, if you stop practising you start forgetting things etc. Lock On cant replace Falcon 4.0, its not in the same catogory of realism but its just an crossing between arcade and a real simulation. Its not that difficult but you have to spend some times learning all those things.
About the Maverick being to easy you are right, its my favorite weapon in Lock On, Easy leathel when used proparly. You should play with those nametags off.

NEW UPGRADED SU-27SK TO BE SHOWN FOR FIRST TIME AT AIR SHOW IN CHINA
MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti’s Olga Semyonova) – The Sukhoi aviation holding company will for the first time put on display its new upgraded Su-27SK fighter at the fifth international Airshow China-2004 at Zhuhai in China, Alexander Smelyakov, head of the public and media relations service of Rosoboronexport, told RIA Novosti on Friday.
“Sukhoi will for the first time display at the Zhuhai air show its upgraded single-seater multi-role Su-27SK fighter whose characteristics are those of the 4 plus generation and ensure hitting with high precision weapons not only aerial, but also all ground and naval targets,” the agency’s source said.
Mr. Smelyakov noted that in specialist view “this combat aircraft has high maneuverability and the world’s best flying characteristics.” He said Russian exhibits at Airshow China-2004 were chosen with a view to emerging world tendencies in military matters and also in line with the basic requirements of armed forces in the Asian continent. Mr. Smelyakov pointed out that apart from the new Su-27SK the Sukhoi family would also be represented at the show by the Su-30MK fighter, the Su-39 multi-role strike plane, and the Su-32 fighter-bomber.
“Other well-known Russian aircraft-making firms are showing no less interesting export products. The MiG corporation, for example, will demonstrate the scope of the MiG-31E interceptor-fighter,” said the Rosoboronexport spokesman. He said that visitors to the show will be able to familiarize themselves with the high performance characteristics of the Yak-150 combat training plane, the Il-76MF strategic military transport and the Pchela-1 remotely-controlled aerial vehicle.

hiya pirate….
do you have a link to a downloadable version of the above video ??
take at this site http://www.pirate.per.sg/
here you can download/see the sindex 04 excersice, just planes taking off etc.
The people of geodysic research cant wait untill the 2 systems will be up and running at the sime time. it will certainly contribute in a extent to earth research etc. I dont think the europeans are going to take these kind of statemants by the US so serieous, remember when they made a “threath” to storm the beaches in holland if US soldiers were being tried in the Hague court. 🙂
Some more pics of the indo sino jets (SINDEX 04 )

if that is the J-10 sustained turn rate is basicly as a MiG-29A`s 22 deg/sec and the instantaneous at 10Gs how the pilot can sustain that G load how the pilot can fly that, sounds to me like rubish unless the chinese have a new system to allow humans to fly at 10Gs without blackouts? a Mig-29 has an instateneous turn of 28 deg/sec but can keep a 23 deg/sec in the best variants such as the MiG-29M
Well flogger i have my doubts to in this paper 😉 . But instantaneous is something else then sustained, the f-16 can also can achieve higher g-rates (but they are limited due to control/saftey issues). A pilot can overcome a higher g-load for a instant, it is important in g load how long you experience it. A pilot bailing out of a plane can also get a >10g/14g load but that is just for a moment.
The follow up of that discussion (coppied from PDF),PLA its from the same guy who claimed to work on the J-10, isnt it

1. any redesign of the intake to improve manuverability?
yes improve manuverability.
—————————————————————————————————————-
2. any addition of conformal fuel tanks for added range, a major need of the plaaf
plaaf very satisfied with it`s range.
—————————————————————————————————————-
3. is the breaking of the tail rudder problem resolved?
has already resolved.
recently some J-10A (use AL-31fn) have equiped plaaf front-line AF troop , j-10a has flew in the sky at Taiwan channel .
—————————————————————————————————————-4. how is sd-10 development with the j-10 comming along?
sd-10 will become the major weapon for j-10a
—————————————————————————————————————-
5. …………………………………………what is the planned indigenous radar of the j-10? …………………………
the long planned will install AESA radar for j-10 ,but T/R module was too expensive producted by ourself . A T/R module cost more than 30000 RMB , if a AESA radar have 900 T/R modules it will cost at least 900*30000 RMB toooooo expensive. the DSP algorithm is not the problem, but the cost of T/R module is big problem.
AESA radar for j-10 is long planned.—————————————————————————————————————-
7. how were some of these things tested as you claim 10g’s were attained while 7g’s are acceptable
Maximum instantaneous G-limits: 10G/-3.0G
Maximum sustained G-limits: 7G/-3.0GJ-10A can turn rate: > 31 degrees/second with sustained state, in this fly mode overload get 10g, but J-10A in this fly mode can not keep it`s speeds , the speeds reduce very fast. when the speeds under the 0.51 Mach in this fly mode J-10A will lose it`s control. ( when the speeds bigger than 0.51 Mach the control is very manuverability ). so this fly mode is the only Maximum instantaneous turn rate: > 31 degrees/second and Maximum instantaneous G-limits: 10G/-3.0G at the speeds larger than 0.5 Mach.
J-10A Maximum sustained turn rate: > 22 degrees/second with sustained state, in this fly mode overload get 7g , but J-10A in this fly mode can keep it`s speeds when the speeds at 0.51 Mach J-10A can add it`s speeds even the overload get 7g , the pilots needn`t consider the speeds maybe under the control speeds. some pilots very surprised find that when they turn rate get 22 degrees/second the J-10A can still add it`s speeds rapidly.

8. if the tvc engine is ready to be fielded in 2006 for testing, at what stage of development is it at now?
tvc engine for testing early than 2006.
