The IAF already got a taste of the F-16 at SINDEX. The excercise was’nt as large scale as and the results were’nt as terribly one-sided as Cope-India because the RSAF came fully prepared but at the same time, the F-16 was found to be easy prey.

MINDEF STATEMENT ON ONGOING EXERCISE SINDEX
The Singapore Ministry of Defense issued a statement to clarify an Indian newspaper report on the ongoing Exercise SINDEX.

    MINDEF Spokesman said:

“We can understand why the Indian media would come out with a sensational story like this.

The irony of the moronic US foreign policy. Promote democracy in Iraq whille strengthening a dictatorship in Pakistan (and also Saudi Arabia and a few other Middle Eastern despot oil sheikhs).

Its not dictorial, there was a referendum and their is a parlement, as the whitehouse pointed out 😉 . “Western style democracy” isnt always better for every country. but that is a non military/aviations discussion.

    Ghauri = NoDong

    Shaheen-1 = Chinese M-9 or DF-18

    Shaheen-2 = Chinese M-18

The Shaheen-II would appear to represent the Chinese M-18, although it is questionable whether Pakistan has actually obtained these missiles from China. There was no indication that China had transferred such missiles to Pakistan.

No the Indian Agni fins in the re-entry vehicle does manuver. Also the Indian Prithvi missile does not have a ballistic profile as its fins are designed for a loft trajectory, see below:

    http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Images/Prithvi9.jpg

Doubtfull that the missile in its whole “reenters” the atmoshpere, also i think the vins on the Pakistani missiles are fixed, not steerable. The steering happens with the engines i belief, the vins of prithvi are also fixed and not steerable as you can see in this picture

    Cough cough

Russia exporting to Pakistan? simply because India would go for another fighter for the 126 multirole ac requirement, dont make me laugh man, russia knows that there are other deals in the pipeline for it, russia will have an Indian customer for a long time to come, obvious if you look at all the current long term agreements, I dont mean to ffend your country but Pakistan does not really offer a large export market for millitary equipment, F-16s have been bought, we dont even know how much that will cost and how much of that will be subsidized by Uncle, there is the FC-1, Pakistan is not a rich country. Let us not get ahead of ourselves here. Remember that F-16s are the first fighters to have been bought for a long time, 4th gen fighters that is.

It was stated by the russian officials several times in news reports. ;), india is more and more getting systems from US instead of its traditional supplier. My country is the Netherlands, not Pakistan, “my roots” are only there. There isnt a need to make such arguments, lets stay on topic.

doubtfull india will go for US planes,

    1. India does not trust the US for guaranteed supplies
    2. If India would go for it, Russia will also begin exporting to Pakistan
    3. etc

    But, well nothing is certain.

When your estimate about the chinese avionic suit is right?
Why not stay with that suit?
It will be more efficient. 😉

estimate ?, stay ? cutt the crap and small talk, move on.

The PAF FC-1 will have a Chinese avionics suite, so that layout looks ok, but its not Chinese and not the avionics suite that the PAF FC-1 will have. The Sagem proposal is just that – a proposal.

So back to the original question. What is the avionincs suite that the FC-1 will have? The version the PAF will induct next year?

No need to make comparisons of the FC1 vs LCA here, been there and done that – and that wasn’t the point.

The original point was that the LCA, Gripen, Rafael, Eurofighter, F-22. F-35, the MKI – all are known in their avionics, engines, and radars.

What about the FC-1 which is supposed to be “inducted” next year?

Thats why i said in this order. the first jf-17 will just be equiped with a chinese avionics suit, its not the final suit. its more efficient whyle they select from the “westernized” options. It doesnt mean the chinese avionic suit will be less, since they also have moved on as you can see from the pics of chinese defence expos.

This is the China news pics and speculation thread, so speculate…

    1) Cockpit / Avionics – has it improved from this:

    http://www.studenten.net/customasp/axl/image/foto/15-1-2004-9-8-fc1_(8)_cockpit.jpg

    2) Radar – So is it the Grifo? Latest was to use an all Chinese avionics suite – what is that, what is the capabilities

    3) Engine – There are reports that Russia will not allow re-export, as recently as last year. So what has changed, if not is there a version flying with a Chinese engine? What is the name of the engine?

You can flame if you feel better, or avoid the topic, but no one has answered the questions, and I am pretty sure that that you guys don’t know either. Yes I have read the old threads, and there is nothing concrete in there.

You ask what is in a MKI, LCA, Gripen, Eurofighter, Rafael, F35, F22 – everyone can put some concrete facts. The FC-1 which is much less ambitious is so hush ?!

    Later…

That layout is outdated and wasnt even good “represented” at that time, since no possible avionics package was known. The jf-17 layout will more likely be in this order, like represented by the proposed sagem jf-17 avionics suit. And pls dont put the names of LCA and Fc-1/JF-17 in the same laegue as the F35, F22, Eurofighter etc, both are “medium tech” planes, not “high tech” 🙂 .

AWC prepares Command and Control System
    from nation.com.pk

ISLAMABAD (APP) – The Air Weapons Complex, a constituent organisation of National Engineering & Scientific Commission, has succeeded in indigenous development of Command and Control System.
A salient feature of the system is its reliability under all weather and geographical conditions. It provides the commander an instant update of all developments in the battle and concentration area, thereby making it easier to make necessary adjustments in the operation plan.
The system’s competence, reliability, mobility and all weather friendliness proven during its trials deeply impressed Bangladesh and AWC’s aggressive marketing persuaded Bangladesh to purchase the system for its air force.
Bangladesh floated a tender for Air Defence Automation System with Integrated War Gaming for Bangladesh Air Force and a contract was signed between AWC and Bangladesh government in June 2003, said an AWC press release here on Sunday.
The system would be inaugurated by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khalida Zia on March 17 in Dhaka. A team of AWC led by Air Weapons Complex DG Air-Vice Marshal Raja Tariq Mehmood will attend the inaugural ceremony. Raja Tariq will also hold meetings with Bangladesh’s air chief and other high officials.
The AWC has also conducted comprehensive and detailed operational maintenance training of Bangladesh’s air force personnel in Pakistan.

From the shape in particular….these dont appear to have much of tactical capability…as compard to prithvi in particular…..there are certainly more ‘fins’ in prithvi. Agni’s first stage and the warhead has ‘fins’…which give it some critical manuvering towards the terminal and initial phases.

Wonder how effective will they be in dodging interceptor missiles..like arrow-2, akash. Even the test that those guys did in isreal for arrow-2 to id the warhead and head towards it…..I think it will be easy targets for ABMs.

I may be wrong….but certainly high G turns have to be aided with these ‘fins’

These “kind” of ballestic missiles are steared by engines and not vins, the vins are static and more meant for stabiliazation, even for the indian missiles. At the final “correction” stage there is certainly no need for “high g turns” 🙂
