New Website ” THE FEW “
Hi,to all just found this new website dedicated to The Few http://www.the-few.org.uk
Cheers Rob…. š
Hello,
There was a 3 pages story about an RAF pilot during the Battle of Britain featuring this picture (and another showing the right side in an old american magazine (Airfoil n°5, 1987), and the author said that the S/N was oversprayed, but painted on very small characters on the tail, and also confirms those are private pictures taken in a clandestine manner, so it is unlikely they were censored. Unfortunately, the author did not give the S/N for this plane.
Laurent
Hi Laurent, Thanks for that did it say who the pilot was ? there is a dispute over this picture, I’ve seen it labelled as Sgt John McBean Christie and Sgt Albert (Bill) Wallace Kearsey, so would be very interested in the name in the magazine.
Cheers

What exactly would you like cleaned up?
Do you want the frame removed from the right side? Do you want the image sharpened up, like Neil’s work? It looks like you’ve got quite a few scratches and dust on the image. Would you like that removed and cleaned up?
The scanner in your image seems to have a negative / slide attachment. Is that what you’ll be scanning?
Neil,
What did you do with your attempt? The contrast seems much higher.
Hi Neil, if you could remove any scratches and sharpen up the photo that would be great. The scanner I know it can be used on negatives but do you know if it can be used with microfiche film ?
Cheers Rob

Should this forum have its name changed to Spitfire Aviation cos thats what nearly all the threads are about.
 š š” I like Spit’s š
Try this….. š
Great link cheers Dave T
Have a look at the Canadian Aviation Historical Society (cahs) – there’s a website – (http://www.cahf.ca) you’d have to join, but that’s number one resource (offline) in Canada. Otherwise try the Canadian Aviation Museum. (http://www.aviation.technomuses.ca)
There’s a lot of Canadians over on WIX. (http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/)
Anyone else care to help?
Cheers
Hi James thanks for the links š
