    Been mentioned here before but North Weald Airfield is under threat from building development. 6000 houses and a park and ride scheme are planned for the site. Objectors have until March . See:- http://www.northwealdairfield.org/

    Hi MMitch, Its a bloody sad fact this country does not care about our History, its all in the past, as I was told by the BBC and local T.V in East Anglia. when I asked for thier help with a project. It makes you wonder why so many people gave their lives for this country, to keep it British :p If it was not for people like yourself and many others in this counrty we would have no History, But I wish you all the luck in the world, sorry about the rant but I feel we are losing are History and that makes me sick to be British 🙁

    Unfortunatly the likes of a certain Mr Prescott and a certain Epping Council are not interested in any historical importance 😡

    I know its sad to say most people just don’t care about our History 😡 Its in the past, My 14 yr old son who does’nt live with me could’nt tell me who Sir Winston Churchill was 🙁 Were losing are History its makes you think what the brave people who died for this country did it all for :confused:

    Rob, why don’t you post a list of the cemeteries and the counties they are in on this thread, followed by the overseas ones by country then location within. Perhaps if people can see where the cemeteries are they may realise that they actually live quite close to some of them?

    I’ve had a look at your list and I’m afraid I’m not near any of them. Good luck with this worthwhile project though. Geoffs idea about contacting local press to request help is a great one too.

    Further to this post does any one know if Peter Illingworth was a headmaster at Heaton Manor School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1967 ?
