It did fly. A single prototype was built in 1952, tested for a few years, then retired. Here it is flying:

Here is a picture of the S-451M Matica, the first Yugoslav jet aircraft. It was powered by two Turbomeca Palas engines. Then they built the J-451MM (J = jurisnik) which was a single seat CAS aircraft. It had two Turbomeca Marbord II engines, top speed of 800 km/h, service ceiling of 12,000 m, range of 760 kms, length of 8.05 m, and take off mass of 2435 kg. A small number of prototypes of each plane (< 5) were built, flown by the VOC (test center) for a few years, then retired. My favorite is the P-453 with W-shaped wings.

Albanian Mig-15’s were retired? I think the F-6’s were after that accident last year, but the Mig-15’s still fly.

BTW, does anyone have any picture of the Croatian UAV that was used during and after the war?

It is called the B-4. More info about it at http://www.soko.hr

How can destroying mock ups and decoys be considered as propaganda claims. The decoys altered the BDA figures. In some cases UAVs caught damaged AFVs being removed on low-loaders.

I am not refering to claims made by Nato DURING the conflict (inflated numbers during the conflict would have been expected due to decoys, etc). Howver, Nato clung to its inflated claims well after the conflict.

Nato even hired people to write propaganda to “debunk Serb propaganda”, for example this article written a year after still claiming that they killed 93 tanks.

    Here’s another one: http://www.afa.org/magazine/June2000/0600kosovo.asp

In any case the Yugoslavs declared the following after returning to the Vienna Document and Dayton Accords in October 1999.

The Yugoslavs admitted to losing the following after rejoining the accords in 1999 post conflict:

    18 (eighteen) MBT

136 (one hundred and thirty six) AFV

50 (fifty) fixed wing combat aircraft.
(This included the 11 MiG-29s lost to all causes. The MiG-21 fleet suffered the worst loss by type)

    11 (eleven) combat helicopters

The bulk of these losses were non-operational equipment which was intentionally placed as decoys.

TEEJ Nato has not provided proof that they killed 93 tanks yet this is what they officially claim. It’s clear who the propagandists are.

The Serbian MoD does not claim that a Mig-29 shot down the F-117 nor does it claim that 38 aircraft were shot down. I don’t know where you are getting that? Nato’s the one who is making ridiculous claims: 93 tanks killed, 100’s of APC’s, thousands of soldiers, etc.

In fact, here is the image of the guy who shot down the F-117 posing with the weapon he used.

The only reason early F-16’s were not BVR-capable was because the designers knew Congress would say “if the F-16 can do BVR then why do you need the F-15 for?” but the designers and airforce knew that BVR would be added.

It is known with 100% certainty that the F-117 was shot down with a (modified) SA-3. An old 60’s era radar that could detect stealth (due to its decimetric wavelength) was used to triangulate the F-117’s position and a SA-3 was fired ballistically into where the F-117 was thought to be, then the SA-3 was guided to the target via a thermal imaging camera that had been integrated onto it. Then the Nato planners randomized the flight paths and this strategy was no longer effective.

It is known that no Mig-29 in Allied Force ever fired a single missile.

Also I believe the one Mig-29 didn’t crash, but was shot down by a SA-6 because of faulty identification equipment identifying it as an enemy.

I think by “3rd world” he meant “small” country.

3rd world really means a poor country.

That’s all speculation. Don’t bother looking up anything about teh serb AF on non-Serbian sites, because they are all outdated.

Well it was a good try but this thread has now become just another opportunity to bash the U.S. by those who seem less than rational.
