Great job getting all those pictures. Do you have any pictures of the Mig-19?
If it was overhauled then why didn’t they put it in service?
INK, there are many Nato countries which not only kept and upgraded their Soviet equipment, but even bought new stuff from Russia after joining Nato. Czech bought new Russian helicopters (Mi-35’s if I recall) just last year. Greece is also a major customer of Russian hardware. So being a member of Nato/EU does not mean you can’t buy Russian.
Just a single Mig-23. As far as I know it hasn’t flown for years. Now it’s just sitting at the museum.
Does anyone know, did that Mig-23 ever receive the overhaul it was supposed to get?
Cmon guys there is no way on earth they will buy anything Chinese, which they have never operated before, and which is of low quality anyways. I am already 99% certain what will happen: The Mig-29’s and Mig-21’s and J-22’s will fly until about 2012-15, and at that time will be replaced by whatever advanced multirole jet Russia has to offer, ie the PAK-FA.
Mig-21s are primarely armed with R-73s and R-60s
I think the Mig-21’s carry just the R-13 and R-60, no R-73.

It would seem that Kapedani et al have ruined yet another thread about Serbian AF. I suggest we stop posting useful info and pictures in here, because if anyone later decides to return to this thread to get some info or pictures, it will be a real chore having to sift through all the BS to get to the useful stuff. Wait a while until this dies down and then start a new thread. 🙁
Where did you hear that?
Only from another guy on another forum, so it may not be very reliable. 🙁
Kapedani give it up. There are tons of R-77 capable planes in service.
The 23rd IAP alone should have 24 Su-27SM’s.
Any information about the indigenous industry? What is the status of the G-4M and G-4MD and the IBL-2004 and why hasn’t production of Lasta started yet? I heard that Serbia is going to overhaul 2000 R-60 missiles for India, anyone know more about that?

Well Bulgaria has I think 18 Mig-29’s and they keep only about 4 or 5 operational and that is enough to police their airspace.
Mig-29’s were used to bomb Croatia with no losses despite presence of SA-18’s. Although they can’t carry PGM’s they can still carry a decent payload of unguided bombs and rockets.
They’re in the airforce, aren’t they? That means the airforce has them. The fact that they are still being tested doesn’t negate that.
…*checks calendar*…date shown…05/03/2006. Thats about 4 years away. Garry is talking as if things are happening NOW…SMTs and Su-34s and R-77s in service. In service where?? With what units?? No they’r not…
Ok so much for that…
Had you bothered reading past the first sentence you would have noticed the quote by the Russian AF commander where he says there are 10 Su-34’s in the AF.
