AR213 (My version)
Finished this a while ago thought you might like to see.
Thanks to Tom at PPS for supplying the details.
Too late to try and change minds now I suppose……
Instrument repairs etc
I work for a company that repairs and overhauls instruments of the era you’re talking about.
Can’t comment on the financial side I’m afraid as I only do the work. You could give our man in the office a ring if you wish;
01494 526301. Ask for Brian Wilkins
Bomber book (2)
Alibris and Abebooks have them. Not expensive either

Hi ya,
If you can’t, give me a PM and you can borrow this one to see if you like it before buying one.

If you can get hold of a copy a good source is RAF Bomber Command in fact film and fiction.

OK, OK I’ve just seen them….book info still applicable though!
Sorry folks, got carried away.
I stand corrected on that one then. But I did see -GL just before, honest!:o
In the background
Mike was right, indeed it was a Chipmunk, but I can’t remember which one as a couple were back and forth at the time. It may have been G-BXGL.
Booker Spitfire Mk.1 AR213 G-AIST (merged)
A few shots from Booker again today.
She was up for about an hour this time with Mr Whaley at the controls.
Sorry about the long shadows though.
Thanks Tom.
Buying prints
I’ve always got on well with Aces High in Wendover. I’ve only bought new but always found them very helpful. Even if they haven’t got what you want I’m sure they’ll point you in the right direction.
Theres also Vector Fine arts too.
Night flight
I also have a copy on normal VHS if thats any use.
Its dated February 2002, was it really that long ago?
Booker Mk1
Just looked at my post again and realised I’d spelt Jonathan Whaleys name incorrectly.
My apologies to Mr Whaley for any embarrassment caused.
I have now corrected it.
IAC Museum visit postscript!
Just returned from our holiday in Ireland and I’d just like to say a very big thank you to the people involved in getting me the base tour and museum visit to Baldonnel on Friday.
Particular thanks must go to Tony Kearns for getting the ball rolling in the first place and also a very big thank you to A/M Michael Whelan for giving up his time to show us round and for making us so welcome. He is a great credit to the IAC. And of course the other base personel we met enroute.
For those who haven’t been yet,the actual museum itself is only one hanger but is very well laid out and full of IAC history.
Hopefully one day it’ll get to become even better as from what I could see there is certainly some great potential.
And I got some good photos too….Thanks Michael!
Got the Wrecks and Relics too. Thanks
Thanks Tony, PM inbound.
Thanks for that MarkV, that means it should arrive the day before the supporters ‘do’ for Air Space.
Cheers
