Much sooner than I had thought.

Am I just imagining things or is the A380 due to fly at the Paris Air Show this year?

I have read that the A380 is scheduled to make its first public appearance in Paris. I wish I could be there to see this behemoth in person but I am not scheduled to be in Europe until December. For those who will be attending the Paris airshow this year, have fun!

Some time ago Abramovich declared in an interview that since he’s making so much for the russian economy he would expect the president Puting to give him a MiG 29 as present.. and I think he wasn’t joking..
Anyway, was Vladimir Putin a former military pilot or not?

    Cheers

    Alex

I believe Vladimir Putin started his government career with the KGB’s first directorate, an office in charge of foreign and political information gathering. He later became the agency’s director before finally moving into the upper echelon’s of the USSR’s ruling government. He was one of Boris Yeltsin’s protege before he gained access to his current post in 2000.

I would pick the Saab Gripen. Its a highly capable aircraft with decent performances but mainly, its cheap to operate!

Actually, Seymour Hersh is just your typical far-left, ‘peace-not-war’, anti-Bush zealot…and he is just trying to undermine our current administration since the one he voted for came up short.

Whether or not his choice for president fell short or not, he never should have put the lives of those in the field at risk. That was simply irresponsible of him and shouldn’t be allowed to broadcast such stories!

For the American media to release such a story is complete and utter outrage as once again, they may have put the safety of American servicemen at risk for the simple desire to dominate the ratings. This is typical of CNN and other American networks. “Let’s run the story and deal with the consequenses later.” I am hoping that there are no American troops in Iran as a manhunt is more than likely to be organized if the Iranian government even for one moment believed this would be the case. the last thing the Bush administration needs is a video of dead US SpecFor troops being paraded in the streets of Teheran. It is bad enough that US Marines and soldiers are killed on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If George Bush wants to win this conflict against terror, he’s going to have to allow his field commanders run the campaign without interference from the people who advise him on a daily basis. This is what these generals are paid for, to win battles and to eventually win the war.

Any Arleigh Burke class vessel closely followed by the Charles de Gaulle get my votes.

I would like the Rafale to win this contract. Unfortunately, I am sure politics will dictate which aircraft will soon wear Singapore’s colours!

Unfortunately, living here in the confines in southwestern Ontario, Canada, hasn’t been the greatest to see some of the rarest fighters such as the Viggen. I have seen my fair share of American, Bristish and Canadian jets at the local annual airshow. The greatest surprise was a pair of Ukrainian Mig-29s in 1993. This was a highlight for me and a couple of buddies.
The last time I attended a European airshow was in 1986, a year before I moved to North America. I remember it like it was yesterday, it’s hard to forget an experience like Farnborough! I hope that I will be able to attend the Paris Airshow in June. In the mean time, I will have to vicariously live through the amazing shots you all share! Cheers!

Would any of you say that the deal for those 125 Mirage 2000-5 is pretty much a done deal or are negotiations still ongoing?
