    This doesn’t make much sense to me. The RAF has had a world presence for many years and I can’t see it continue to fulfill its commitments if such cuts take effect. Another thing which will take place would be major layoffs at BAe Systems. I believe the Tony Blair government to be in hot water at this time and confirming such a decision would only serve to scuttle his plans for reelection.

    I would imagine late generation Mig-29s will be on his extensive shopping list. Maybe he will go as far as purchasing a few squadrons of Su-35s. It definitely will be interesting to see where Lybia intends on purchasing new weapons. Let’s not forget that China has been designing late generation fighters which might also draw some interest from the Lybian government.
