ello!
I am booked to fly out of heathrow in may with BA, on a 767 (transatlantic to BWI). BA states my class of travel is “world traveller” and the online flight manager tells me the features the seats will have. World Traveller class does have seatback TV screens. However, BA use some 767’s to fly european routes, and these are fitted with eurotraveller seats (i.e. no vid screens). the flights over the atlantic are usually 5 hours plus and i would have thought that it would make sense to deploy the world traveller equipped 767’s on their “world” flights. I guess it remains to be seen. you may be in for a nice or a nasty surprise!
Enjoy your trip!

Really nice shots! i like the Virgin 747 turning onto 05L (i think it’s 5L if your ar the vantage point i think you are).
Since my last computer went kaplowie before christmas, i now do my editing on a macbook too!
Sam
Thanks guys 😮 Just one from today trailing over my house bound for JFK…
You’re name is literally written in the clouds! it takes a second look to see that:D
Nice photo!
Sam
Hey D….
there is only one thing to say….You’re getting bloody good. I love them! Slam Dunk, ya? 😀 some of your best here for sure.
My favourite is the virgin atlantic 74’s, of course. 😀
Now, i’m not coming to do photography at MAN in may, but you may have to drive us past there if the weather’s nice. pretty please? 😀
Sam
Yeah Sam, you’re right in your comments….your terrible skills as both a photographer and an editor show through with this atrocious set of what some may call “photos”. 😀 😀
Simply stunning mate, incredibly sharp and well lit! My Favourite has to be the Etihad Airways photo. great job! I am hoping that N713TW pays KDCA a visit sometimes soon, looks very nice indeed. i saw one of their new look 757’s parked there the other day, a vast improvement on what they had before IMO.
Keep it up mate, was great to see ’em.

This appears to be a growing problem all over the US; the problem resides in the fact that people who can make a difference ignore the safety issues until something tragic happens.
it’s a dangerously reactive safety culture; unforuntaely it may take a collision to see action being taken to increase runway safety, which is not the way it’s supposed to be. it’s very sad. the US has an antiquated ATC network and fatigued, overworked controllers, when combined with capacity contraints and overscheduling is a recipe for a nasty accident. its becoming a question of “when”, not “if”. JFK is struggling as it is; i am just glad everything turned out ok this time.
Damn the red tape.
aaaaah, gravelly point..a place i have come to know and love! good to see some more shots from DCA, i really should get myself down there again. it’s my new “local”, and an awesome airport. where did you get the awesome frontier shot from? was it in the sterile area or in the main terminal with the large windows?
All great shots, liking the busy-ness of EWR. when i went i found it very hard to get good shots from the airtrain.
Sam
adam! some really nice shots there, great to see a different perspective! the Virgin B747 does it for me, absolutely fantastic work. you lucky SOB! 😀
Sam
these are great photos! i esp. like the Cathay and the BA. shame there are no interior photos of the awesome terminal! where abouts is this viewing gallery in relation to the departures and the check in area? is it well used?
Sam
hey adam!
didnt realise you had actually posted this thread a week ago, i haven’t been around on this forum recently!
anyway, your shots are really really excellent; each shot is spot on. glad you finally got some good weather! personally, i think its about time we had some photos from you! 😀
I especially like the PIA and SIA 777 shots….there is something about the 777 that just makes these photos stand out.
Sam
🙁 these people are just….indescribable.
ERJ’s, CRJ’s use standard airbridges at most US airports. Not too sure about the BAe146’s or fokkers, i don’t usually see too many of them. On the smaller Jets the cushion often doesnt cover the entire door….sometimes they look quite silly having such a small aircraft hooked up to an airbridge, where the airbridge has a lot more headroom than the actual aircraft!
Sam
thanks so much guys, very much appreciated. i too notice the dust spots…..they are easy to edit out during post processing but i have seen them whilst in “the field”, and have just not bothered to do anything about them yet…to be honest, Editing them out in photoshop is a whole lot better than risking damage to the sensor with my clumsiness.
Si, i actually took your advice and went on down underneath the bridges….the hill there is great for those approaches! thanks for broadening my options, its a great spot.
I have had no problems with security at all at DCA…Gravelly point is frequently filled with a lot fo people att with cameras, no necessarily photographing sircraft, but it’s a park so very family friendly. i have, so far, hesitated to photograph inside the terminal, as the TSA are rather paranoid…and there’s a lot of them, so it may not be good to draw attention to yourself in that spot. its a shame, because there are some incredible full on ramp views offered by the panoramic windows.
Sam
hey adam….
i have two calls listed to you on my phone when i found it, times were:
14:16 and 13:58. add 5 hours to each of those, see if the times correspond! huddersfield, eh?
my credit is right down because of you, you SWINE. expect a strongly worded email soon.
😀
Sam
hey adam!
they play music through the PA system at both Reagan and Dulles airports, interrupted by the Security announcements every 5 minutes. i think music is only good if it’s the right music, and in the right place! relaxing music is definitely good….but there is a lot of cheesy “elevator” music out there. it also doesnt have to be played through the whole terminal; it can be localised to specific areas. i dont think they have it around the security checkpoints; as well as the possibility of providing a distraction, they constantly have security warnings blaring out; it may also be considered inappropriate for specific areas.
Oh, and i dont know whether or not you got my text message….basically, phone unlocked + pocket + your name at the end of the phone book = call from the pocket! ever so sorry.
