Phuket is a fantastic place. i would definitely reccomend it. most prices are very cheap for food, clothing and lodging if you know where to look. the wide array of tourist sites are well worth the look, as they contain far more information than myself. you can take boats to the phi phi islands (amongst others). if you see a guy called “O” in patong, ask him how he’s doing! he sold us all drinks on the beach when we went. 😀
not really on your “track”, but Hong Kong is well worth it! again, cheap deals on accommodation can be had (research, again:D) but be prepared to spend that little bit extra on transport / food. most of the shops are designer shops (Gucci, bulgari, prada, etc. a big no no), but there are also quite a few streets which are fascinating, crowded markets where all variety of cheap things (including food) can be had! visits to victoria peak, repulse bay and sai kung are worthwhile. everyone is super friendly! but emember, be prepared to pay a little extra for everything; most of your travel costs, excluding flights, will probably be getting to the airport and back. also, there has been a massive influx of people attempting to sell you “copywatches” they hassle you all the time. just ignore em:D also i would reccommend Morton’s steakhouse, but i have to do that as i am under oath:D
