Love it!!! where on earth did you find that ???To be honest ,I think it`s in very good condition for what it is and how old it is…I wouldn`t bother trying to clean it up…just protect it from moths !!!

I was told yesterday by an ex-Shackleton Navigator that this `Control Unit Type 704` is fitted on a Shackleton. He said it was part of the anti-submarine kit for switching between the frequencies of dropped sonar buoys to get a fix on a sub..is it any use for your project ???

A Great Day..Thankyou BDAC!!! Nice interesting surroundings, great staff and a lovely reasonably priced Cafe!! I sold a fair bit and got some nice items for my project..missed the nice MK X oxy reg £30.. Damn!!.There were some nice bits there ( Nice rack Tim) and I found the mystery bit I`ve had for ages is Shack anti-sub( might have sold it if I`d found out earlier). It was nice to meet fellow forumites and share a few leads and contacts….brilliant 🙂

Brilliant Tim…….I have part of something very similar in aluminium from a crash and assumed until now it was some sort of crew step(but really too flimpsy for that). Thanks for that.

Thanks for the replies chaps, the chute looks like quite an old wartime pattern, but I don`t think it`s silk. It`s in nice condition, but I wouldn`t trust it…….I took it up to my kids school when they had `war week`,I deployed it in the playing field and it dragged me through a hedge….much to the kids amusement.:)

Scumbags…..will keep my eyes open for this, they`d struggle to move it on without someone in the aviation scene spotting it.
