My gut feeling is a wireless operators seat…must say at first I thought..early Stirling..but got the later one and they were not on runners….what about Hastings or something like that?will the back cover remove so we can see the rear framework?

Brilliant programme..even the wife watched it all the way through!!..I must say the old guy who accepted the ride on the trolley was sprightly for his age..dropped down like he was about to do 1oo press-ups.

Yes we still have a chuckle over that one Blue 2..
My younger daughter (about 5 at the time) was crying in her bedroom one night the day before we were going to Cornwall on holiday. When we asked her what was wrong she said ” I really want to paddle in the sea tomorrow, but I`m scared a shark will get me” after being reassured there were` no dangerous sharks in our coastal waters` and most won`t harm humans anyway` she remembered me and the wife had been scuba diving in Australia with sharks ” and you fed them and they didn`t hurt you did they Dad ?” …..” “No” I replied “they were very tame, but they did tend to snatch the food”…She smiled with her peace of mind, which suddenly developed into a frown as she asked ” did you feed them bits of dead people?”

I never realised just how much my interest in WW2 rubbed off on my kids.
My daughter was being treated to a sking holiday in Austria with the in-laws.As it was a special treat we asked her to stop sucking her thumb as she was too grown up and it looked silly. We told my daughter that we would tell her Grandma and grandad she wasn`t to suck her thumb whilst away and if she did ,she wasn`t to be allowed sking that day.My daughter and inlaws were sat in Bristol Airport lounge waiting to board and Grandad turned to my daughter and said ” Right Maddie…what have you NOT got to do when we get to Austria” my daughter thought for a while and replied ” wear a Swastika?”

Yes Anon, with you there, the `catch` looks like it may locate around a slewing ring.

Not a picture of your ladder or even one up to the bomb aimers position, but similar diagonal supports at the base (although other way round). Your ladder looks about the right length.any serial numbers ???
