Waiting for weeks for something on a `fast track` from The States, paying well over the odds for packing, then getting charged Import VAT because the seller didn`t fill any customs forms out.
He did say he`d consulted one of his friends ( a traffic policeman) who informed him it could overhang the car by up to a foot either side!!!The funny thing was he just wanted to mount it on the ceiling of his one bedroom rented bungalow!!..No really ,he was a really lovely guy though..and yes ,single.

I am sure Whitley Project will be able to confirm this, but I am sure they acquired a Whitley turret from my pal in Brighton in past few years.
As I recall, Ken Ward of Yorkshire also bought a turret (or turrets) from Craig Charleston at Shoreham Aerojumble about six or seven years ago. Cannot recall what!

Rushing to get a load of Chipmunk stuff out of the attic for a possible buyer who was on his way down, dropped the tail fin(thinking the wife had got it) and smashed an antique sink(which had been replaced 6 months earlier) clean in half. The ensuing row was only disturbed by the prospective buyer phoning to say he couldn`t make it………….actually this should be on `what made you smile today` as we eventually laughed…although it was a sort of disturbed manic laugh.
