Looking at these pics, I really can’t understand why nothing is being
done to the remains.
it’s a long way away but wouldn’t any of the wingsections be usable to the Stirling project?Cheers
Cees
Sadly the wings are completely different.
Doesn’t Lancaster NX611 ‘Just Jane’ have a Rose rear turret fitted?
Nope,Jaguar is right,FN82 fitted,There are Rose turret cupolas at Newark and East Kirkby though.
Wish a Stirling canopy was a simple construction like that,I had one of these canopys years ago in my Lancaster cockpit build days….before I saw the light, lol
thought it was new…1987 ?? Some great footage though, especially the Beverly coming in to land……crying shame after a landing like that, this aircrafts fate.
The whisper I heard was that the new owner saw it as a potential Lancaster project!
it seems a shame to restore/convert it really,a nice original and rare relic in itself.
Looking very dapper yourself Peter. Spitfires, beer and and a chippie. The perfect evening. This morning was less attractive.
Great picture !!!
yep a North East Aircraft Recovery Museum Label for sure !!
Three hundred gold nuggets i believe.
.
That`s cheap !! You`d get over £100 for the vacuum change over on that panel alone.does anyone know which aircraft the section came from ?

Thought the Lincoln was wider than a Lanc?,Surely a Lincoln cockpit would be alot rarer, there`s quite a few Lanc `Homebuilds`, I can think of four off the top of my head, all really nicely made.
Amazing Lincoln section!! approx how much did it go for ?
I thought a good landing was one you walk away from…as long as they`re all ok,it could have been worst.
What a fantastic idea neil996,of course a Halifax nose section would be alot easier to assemble than an Ikea flatpack cupboard though !!
Hi yes i will have to dig out the info i have a relic .50 cal from this crash with a barrell like a bannana
Can you post a photo please? did you get it from the site? there still seemed to be alot of it lying around over a large area, with 6000 lbs of bombs going up I suppose there would be !!
its first mission?I have both camera doors from this aircraft, one is painted grey the other natural finish (bare).I assumed this was because one door had been replaced due to battle damaged!! will try and route out the bits for a photo.
